Hi,

I am in Crown Point, Indiana...not exactly a million miles away, about 2

hours....Anybody near Chicago? That is an hour north of here...hard to find

GOOD sources for food, I don't have credit cards, so I don't do mail order,

prefer to shop daily if possible, can only get mostly regular commercila

stuff, not organic..Judy

WOW! Judy;

I live in Hawaii now but I lived in Hammond for 11 years Crown Point

was my old stomping grounds. If you ever plan a trip to Hawaii, look

me up. My lady freind and I have a guest house, an organic garden,

and wild fruits (my favorite) growing near by. We consider People

from northern Indiana, practicly family.

Aloha Doug!

I'm guessing you're on Kauai by your email address. I'm on the north shore

on Oahu. Have you been getting any mangoes and lychees yet ... so

wonderfully delicious!!

[Judith Roney] Doug & Vicki...

Isn't that just a little wild? Crown Point is still " hopping &

stomping " ....it still maintains it's " quaintness " ..lot's of antiques, etc.

and the old buildings...but seems like new pubs and nightspots are popping

up steadily..at least they are " sporty " or upscale..but I'd rather see a raw

food restraunt or organic food store!!

They just spent milions & millions in Gary on a baseball stadium for the

" Railcats " team. Hammond is still Hammond and doing fine...

I can't say how much I envy you...we almost sold out and moved to Florida

last year...this area has a beautiful season in the fall, and the first

snows are always welcome & the dunes are the next best thing to the ocean,

but it's still basically " the armpit of the Midwest " , and the pace is too

fast..my origins are Chicago, but I'm a coastal girl in my heart..

Seems like it would be " easier " to stay raw in warm climates, and to eat

the indigenous produce..when the temps dip below 10 degrees here my

willpower may disinigrate...

You can garden all year round, can't you? Wild fruits would be amazing,

even just the " art " of gathering them would be such a natural effort..kind

of taking you back a couple of thousand years to the gathering method for

food.

Will take you up on the offer if I ever make it that way..closest I've

been is California, Oregon (love that Haystack rock) and Washington...

[Judith Roney] << I'm forwarding a picture of my husband & I..this was 3

years ago when we were both veggies..he went back to meat..

Hope it doesn't slow up anyone's downloads too bad[Judith Roney] <<ooopps

couldn't do that..I got it back, too large ..Judy

Vicki;

No I'm on the Big Island all the way down south near South Point, Kau

district, hence; Kauguy. Yes plenty mangoes, I drive (splash) through

mangoes rotting on the highway on my way to work. Have you found a

raw group on oahu yet? I'll bet there is one around I found a group

here, there are about 15 of us. We get together for potlucks now and

then. Next event we have I'll let you know, in case you are feeling

adventurous.

Aloha Doug,

Now your email name makes all the sense! I have a few friends here that are

also into raw foods. I have a friend that lives Waawaa, near Kapoho. Next

time I make a trip over there, I'll be in touch. It's always great to

connect with others on the same path.

Vicki
