Guest guest
Hi Everyone, I'm new to the group and just getting interested in a raw foods diet. I've been vegetarian for over four years. I am interested in getting a juicer, but have also seen the Vitamix in both print ads and in person at Costco recently. I don't have any health problems at present (that I know of, of course <G>) and wonder if keeping the fiber and other components of the veggies/fruits would be best. Just curious...do most of you juice alot or stick to the whole fruit/vegetable??? Anyone have a Vitamix and use it? Is it worth the cost? I am enjoying your posts so far and really appreciate how respectful you all are of the different stages people are at. You are an intelligent and helpful bunch. Thank you! ~Nita

YOu can't get juice out of a Vitmix though...more like smoothies, salad dressings, etc Nita Crabb <Nita wrote:Hi Everyone, I'm new to the group and just getting interested in a raw foods diet. Guest guest
I love my vita mix and wouldn't trade it for anything, although for juicing no. I have the green power juicer. Green power uses a pressing method to extract the juice. more like a chewing method which does not oxide as quickly and holds the nutrient and life force much longer. Blending the juice oxides to fast and you loose many of the nutrients and life force. There is a much cheaper juicer called the samson or oscar which work the same way. I find pulp that is extracted to be very wet where the green power it is dry resulting in more juice. vy Dominic <adyysa wrote: I have both. I use my Vitamix daily. I think it's worth it. I have a Champion and I run the pulp through twice to make sure I am getting all the juice. Cathe>>
Guest guest
Nita, Welcome to the group! I've had my VitaMix now for about five years, and I love it. I don't use it EVERY day, but just about. It's great for smoothies and right now we are making a lot of those with fresh fruit that's in season. Enjoy it! Cathe Anyone have a Vitamix and use it? Is it worth the cost?
