Guest guest
Hi Guys, I've just walked away from a serious car accident - to make a long story short, I collided head-on with the guard rail on a major highway - with little more than a sprained ankle and some head, neck and shoulder injuries, mostly resulting from the seatbelt. I'm looking to feed my body with the best possible foods to speed up my recovery, but I'm not sure if I should continue to eat raw, go on a water fast or go on a vegetable juice fast supplemented with fresh wheatgrass. I tend to stay away from fruits since I've had problems with candida in the past. Also, does anyone have suggestions for dealing with the swelling of a sprained ankle? I also have major lacerations around my neck from the seatbelt and don't want this to turn into a scar. Right now I'm just icing my ankle and using aloe vera gel for my neck. Thanks!!! Guest guest
Hi, Chantal........I understand raw, organic honey is good for lacerations or any open wound to speed healing wihout scarring. Apply it then you may want to put a bandage over it then leave it for a few days or longer........Betsy - Chantal rawfood Friday, July 25, 2003 12:58 PM [Raw Food] Accident Recovery Hi Guys, I've just walked away from a serious car accident - to make a long story short, I collided head-on with the guard rail on a major highway - with little more than a sprained ankle and some head, neck and shoulder injuries, mostly resulting from the seatbelt. Guest guest
Diane......I have probably read that article but would love to see a copy of it, too if you have one. What I read was about a woman on a remote farm about a century ago who put the raw honey on a very badly cut arm, bandaged it up as best she could until the country doctor was able to get to her home about a month later. When she took the bandage off to show him the injury, it was completely cleared up with no evidence she ever was even injured. There are many other examples but that one stands out in my mind. Thanks......Betsy - Diane Law rawfood Friday, July 25, 2003 8:15 PM Re: [Raw Food] Accident Recovery Hi Chantal I understand that raw honey applied to skin problems heals with no scaring. Guest guest
Hi Diane, I'd love to receive the article, I'm not a big fan of applying chemicals to my body in in anyway. Besides, I'm in a wheelchair right now, so I need to keep occupied and this is a perfect time to catch up on some natural healing reading. Where about do you live? I've got a condo in the St. Lawrence market area but I make the long commute to Burlington. The accident took place on the westbound Gardiner soon after I got on at the Jarvis on-ramp, just before Spadina. -Chantal rawfood , Diane Law <joy2knit> wrote: > Hi Chantal > > I understand that raw honey applied to skin problems heals with no scaring. Guest guest
Chantal, I'm glad to hear that all you suffered were minor injuries - that could have been a bad one. The following is my opinion only and the herbs suggested are based on TRADITIONAL USES of the particular herb. Go to www.herbalnutritionalsupplements.com once there go to traditional usage and look up sprain and shock. I think you should get some arnica on all spots asap as they have been through a shocking experience. Also, you should take internally and on the insides of your wrists flower essence with gorse for the emotional trama you are currently suffering. One or more of the calcium herbs will help with the speedy healing / recovery. Peppermint and herbal alignment will help the sprain to " correct " itself. Wheatgrass is a must. If you can get it Chlorella will help lots. You can email me off list if you want to discuss more... Guest guest
Hi, Chantal and all other Canadians out there. I am in Toronto, south Etobicoke area, and get down to the St Lawrence area about once a month. It is nice to know there are other Canadians out there who are either Raw, or striving to be Raw (like me). Chantal, have you tried these healing recommedations, and do you feel they are helping you to mend? Please let us know how you are doing. Our thoughts and prayers are with you. Take care, eh!
