Guest guest
Hi. I've been lurking for quite a while. I've learned a great deal from this group. When I saw the comment about, you shouldn't reinjest your own urine, I just had to post. The timing is to funny. This subject was just brought up in our herbal group. There seems to be all kinds of info on why drinking your own urine is good for you. Not being a partaker of such delight, I'd love to know more about this, pro or con, if someone is knowledgeable. I hope this isn't to unpalatable a subject! Thanks, Kathe

Guest guest
Kathe,All: There are a couple of books on this but i don't remember the authors. One is " Urine Therapy " by a woman, (big help, aren't i) The first picture we get when we hear of this is someone sitting down to a glassfull or thermos of urine and " bottoms up. " It's not that. It is drinking a few drops at a time. Our urine is supposed to be pure not loaded with toxins, uric acid, creatinine etc as it has been purified by passing thru the kidneys. Ill try to get the books/authors, but a google search should uncover them. Rob > Hi. > I've been lurking for quite a while. I've learned a great deal from > this group. Guest guest
It just makes no sense to me. If our bodies needed it, or could benefit from it, why did it get rid of it in the first place? As complex as our bodies are, why would it not reabsorb what it needed? I just don't buy it, I am sorry. Raw food makes sense to me and did so instantly. What could be more natural? You take a piece of fruit, eat it in its natural state, drop the seeds or the seeds you ingest come back out along with a food source for the seed. This makes sense. Drinking your urine does not make sense. Guest guest
--- B " H I'm with you, Monte. It must be a throw-back to when getting fresh water to drink was a problem for humans, so they drank their urine if need be. As a rule, if the body excretes or secretes a substance it does not need it, it is a waste material and reingesting it is harmful. Drink distilled or filtered water. If the idea of drinking drops at a time appeals to you, drink rain. Doreen In rawfood , " M " <mavalkyrie> wrote: > It just makes no sense to me. Guest guest
I'm Not a proponenet of urine therapy but I have to answer this misinformation. - >It doesn't even for a > second strike me as something that could even possibly be good for > you. - It is supposed to kick start your detoxification process. I guess you could use a lesson in homeopathy. Homeopathic remedies don't work on the condition itself rather just starting the body's own regulating process, for examle: Diagnosis: Speck in the eye. Treatments: MD. " This won't hurt a bit, I'll just do a quick sugery to remove the speck and patch you up. As the eye heals quickly you sould be able to remove the patch in 3 or 4 days. Naturopath: I'l mix up this wonderful salve to slowly dissolve the speck. Just apply every 4 hours for 5 days and you'll gradually notice the speck dissapear. Homeopath: " Here, smell this onion. Guest guest
If one wants to kick start detox you don't need to turn to urine therapy, just go from SAD to Raw Mono Eating overnight. Trust me your detox doesn't need to move any faster than that. rawfood , " Rusty " <rustym@p...> wrote: > I'm Not a proponenet of urine therapy but I have to answer this > misinformation. > - > >It doesn't even for a > > second strike me as something that could even possibly be good for > > you. > - > It is supposed to kick start your detoxification process. > I guess you could use a lesson in homeopathy. > Homeopathic remedies don't work on the condition itself rather just starting > the body's own regulating process, for examle: > Diagnosis: Speck in the eye. > Treatments: > MD. Guest guest
I have heard that you can drink your urine. I think back in the 70's or so some people were stranded either a plane crash or something and they drank their urine to survive and they were doing reports about it on the news and stuff and how a person can survive if need be by doing so. It was just to gross for me to even pay much attention to at the time but I did file it in my memeory banks just in case I am stranded somewhere as a last ditch effort. Thank goodness I don't fly. rawfood , " M " <mavalkyrie> wrote: > To me this isn't even worth searching for. Guest guest
It is well understood that " anything " can be rationalized, and reasons and data found to support such assertions; and that supposed " benefits " of certain bodily phenomena are misinterpretations of, perhaps, bodily responses, such as palliation. I am with those who posit that the body, in its wisdom, is " eliminating " urine, and therefore it is not " food " or " drink " . Can't imagine eating my own fecal matter, either.
