Many vegans do not research or read > about the diet and they lose their health. It is also true that many people HAVE researched it well and ate according to all the " experts " yet still their health has fell apart pjn the raw vegan diet. This has happened to me and others I have been in contact with. Now I eat a diet more appropriate for our species (a diet similar to that which many of the other frugivorous primates eat: raw fruit/ vegetables/ and around 5-10% animal products. This change in my diet caused a huge health transformation. Pete
Guest guest
Hi Mike, Thank you for answering my E-mail. Sorry for my use of the word flog, here in the UK, this simply means to sell and I was refering to the other articles, not the Weston Price ones. Please may I ask why you are a raw food vegetarian if you respect the writings on this web site. In almost every article he disagrees with a vegetarian diet, except for people with extreme conditions. I don't know where to start to point out examples, but perhaps start with http://www.westonaprice.org/myths_truths/myths_truths_vegetarianism.html I have been a healthy vegan for over ten years, and would never plummit into being totally raw, without fully investigating the health issues first, which is why I'm giving you the third degree (hope you don't mind my questions). Many of the things I read at this site had me hopping mad, but, you are right in that other articles seemed very sensible. Arguements such as that it is kind to animals to eat them, as long as we treat them well during their shortened lives doesn't hold any sway for me. Also, using the arguements that woman should choose whether or not she would have a pigs heart transplanted to save her own child is so rediculous. If he can't see that a person in such a distressed state is not fit to make such a decision and that should be up to law, then he's lost. Why not let murder victims relatives make up the sentence, or ask, would you buy a homeless persons liver for your dying husband. These are not things that should be asked of a desperate person. Anyway, I'm not sure I can read any more, it just gets me mad. I hope you are not offended, as I'm truely glad to have browsed the site and I did take note of many other things, and as you suggested did not dismiss it all out of hand. I appreciate all reading materials and hopefully stay with an open mind. Love Shell.
