Hello Shell,

You wrote in reference to the articles on the Weston Price web site

" Please may I ask why you are a raw food vegetarian if you respect

the writings on this web site. "

I don't respect all the writings, but many of them are great. I

only read the articles that interest me. You mentioned reading the

article about a pig heart transplant, that subject doesn't interest

me so I haven't read it!

I respect the work of Weston Price and his book " Nutrition and

Physical Degeneration " . I also respect the work of Francis M.

Pottenger and his study " Pottenger's Cats " . Because I respect both

Price and Pottenger, I respect the work of the The Price-Pottenger

Nutrition Foundation (PPNF). I respect their work on vegetarian

nutrition, such as properly prepared grains and raw organic dairy.

This is an article on Pottenger's Cats:

http://www.price-pottenger.org/Articles/PottsCats.htm

I am a raw vegetarian, and the PPNF articles provide me with good

articles on the importance of raw butter, raw milk, and raw yougurt.

Here is another article on Doug Morrison's web site about Price and

raw butter:

http://www.topica.com/lists/howweheal/read/message.html?

mid=806335425 & sort=d & start=74

I also respect Doug Morrison and his book " How We Heal " . Doug is a

huge fan of Weston Price and the PPNF.

The PPNF has another great website: http://www.realmilk.com/

Peter,

Why are you throwing the baby out with the bathwater? The info on the

Weston Price site can be applied to a vegetarian diet free of meat.

There are many highly scientific observations on tbe Weston Price

site. There are studies of people and there health and longevity and

what they ate. There is also some great info on certain nutrients in

animal foods. (BTW, a DHA and b12 deficiency causes irational

anger ;). The info on the Weston Price site can be applied to a

vegetarian diet free of meat.

Mike,

Why would I gain anything by reading Weston Price pages?

I would have a problem reading more than a bit about the merits of

eating animal food. I can understand that long ago we were all fishes

and ate each other but that was sufficiently long ago for evolution to

re-adjust with tens of millions of years to spare. More careful

inspection of the mamalalian phenomenon is merited before a carnivorous

passage for man is counselled.

Sorry for Brian who was upset by me...

There are direct factual anthropological observations, scientific

studies, and other facts there to be gained. You would gain factual

knowledge and be exposed to logical ideas that would question and

challenge your current beleif system. This is healthy. Are you scared

that you will find info there that will shake the foundations of our

beliefs?

There has never been any indication that we ever adjusted to a vegan

diet. There is no evidence we were ever vegan. Lots of evidence, like

comparative anatomy and fossil records indicates we have always eaten

a percentage of animals foods.
