hello

I am very interested

how much do you charge for a bushel?

Where are you located (what state? if in the US)

The local Co-Op here may also have an interest. The only olives are

either pressed (and unfortunately some are heavily adulterated with

additives and improper containers)

Or they are " dried " which in my opinion are pretty disgusting after

soaking in their brine or whatever they do to them.

Because of climate here there is no local competition, with the

greenhouses perusing the more lucrative and reliable tomatoes and flowers.

there are some raw people locally,

there is a potential for at least a small market

Another idea & possibly just a trendy one, is to sell you olives with a

small press. Sort of like grinding your own pepper & other herbs, which

is what I do. The flavor is unmatched for peppers. See " On the topic

of raw olives: " for an applicable tip on really fresh oil.

I know several other people which if the olives are Superior, as I am

sure they wold be especially considering they are organic, would very

much like them as well. One in particular is a regular meat eater!

On the topic of raw olives:

Again this is just second hand

According to David Wolfe in his Sunfood Diet Success System he said that

olives must ripen after falling from the tree, with some sunlight

falling on them (like citrus).

When they turn white they are ready or very close.

thanks & best wishes

Jimmy;

Wow you are way up north I grew up in Trinity County. I live in

Hawaii now and I am trying to grow olive trees. You must get some

pretty cold winters where you live, Olive trees can handle that? Or

do you have a special variety. I searched on the internet for olive

trees and found that they need cool winters and hot summers. I have

cool winters, but also cool summers. I live at high elevation. I

bought Peruvian olives from David Wolf and planted the seeds, so I

guess I will find out if they will grow here. If you have any left

over I am sure David would buy them for resale. nature

All his profits go to promote Raw Foods.

Sun dried woul be great with me. I don't know very

much about them because raw olives are typically too

expensive. If your price is right, and they are

tasty, I would take a lot of sun dried (or dehydrated

at 100 degrees). Both my girlfriend and I are raw,

and I think we should be able to eat through quite a

few. Let me know what your thoughts are.

Thanks

Rufus

Also, can they be raw cured ? If so, they would last

longer. I could buy a lot of olives if they had a

shelf life.

Thanks

Definition of " raw cured " ....

salt -no salt, Temperature ?? Is dried considered " cured " ?

Brine/lye cured ? Black ripe or green ?

If you buy a black olive in a can they are turned black chemically.

Most all commercial canned olives are harvested green.

For me I would like them fresh and black, but green will also work if

that is all you have.
