Guest guest
I have been 100% raw for over 2 weeks now. The other night, my husband & I went to a lecture by Victoria Buentko and a wonderful raw gourmet meal prepared by her. Since then, my husband has decided to give it a try. I have been eating lots of fruit and lots of large salads. Since the lecture, I have made a couple recipes from 12 Steps To Raw Foods (her book), and really liked what I made. I finally broke down and ordered an Excalibur food dehydrator last night! I am looking forward to increasing the variety of foods I prepare and eat. I have several raw books that have been mentioned on this list, and look forward to finding good recipes to prepare. Does anyone here have any favortie recipes they would like to share? Has anyone posted recipes to the site? If not, that would be a good idea so we can share recipes. Speaking of Thanksgiving, I am planning on have a Thanksgiving feast at the Hippocrates Institute. It should be quite an adventure in itself. I am also happy to deviate from the usual Thanksgiving family gathering which usually consisted of me doing most of the work and having it at my house. I am happy to have stumbled upon raw eating after becoming a vegan and getting back with the Natural Hygeine program. I am also happy to have my raw groups online that I belong to, such as this one. Prior to this, I had been a vegetarian for 24 years who gave up chocolate 13 years ago, caffiene 8 years ago, alcohol over 5 years ago. It has been an evolment to get where I am today at age 52. I can imagine how dramatic things can be for people who become raw almost overnight after being carnivorous all their lives. Next step will be a juice fast. I have had all-fruit days, and in the distant past, I used to water fast once a week. I may work my way back to a water fast, but I'm not in a hurry. I will work at detoxifying so it won't be too uncomfortable. Of course, one day isn't bad as I've done close to that many times just with the way I now under eat. I am glad to have this group to share and learn from. When I see those debates that spring up from time to time, I just hit delete. I know there are good debates, but I am one who doesn't like disharmony and sometimes these debates seem not to be too peaceful. Guest guest
Viveca; It is so cool that you got to see Victoria Boutenko. I love that woman. I believe she is a true hero in the raw food movement. If you want to give yourself a little pick-me-up once in a while. Get her video " Is Raw Food For You? " I bought 2, one for me and one to loan to friends. I play it every once in a while just to keep me on the straight and narrow. Here is a link. http://www.rawfamily.com/products.htm Recipes; http://www.living-foods.com/recipes/ they also have a lot of great articles, and a raw forum. Also check their " Links " page there are sites with recipes there. More recipes; http://www.sunfood.net/recipes.html also check our " Links " page, and do a search on our forum I know I have a Curry recipe, and one for Pizza. Back there somewhere. When people are detoxifying sometimes the poison comes out through their mouths, and their finger tips on the key board. I was the worst. I posted messages I am now ashamed of. Its all part of detox, and its all good. Doug rawfood , " Viveca Park " <vivecapark@a...> wrote: > > > I have been 100% raw for over 2 weeks now.
