Guest guest
Hi Peter, I read your previous thoughts and although I'm new, I'm open to suggestions concerning meal planning. I recently started weight training(3 days per week) and cardio five days per week. So I need to make sure I'm getting adequate protein on a daily basis and I eat every 3 hours. Can you give me an idea of what you eat for a typical day, or can you offer suggestions for me? Thanks Lili
Guest guest
Lilli, Do not worry about protein. What your body looks for is carbohydrate and it gets too much of that anyway by the sound of things. Protein deficiency is extremely rare and there is plenty in Fruit and vegetables. A course of juice fasting will give you more than you are getting in a great plate loads of grain. Try a two day juice fast and see if you feel better. Then wait a week or two and try a longer one. What I eat would not be appropriate for you at this stage. You simply would not eat it. You may need to tip out rather than load up. Guest guest
Peter, this is a bit graphic and gross, I forgot to mention earlier that I ate 1 scrambled egg, 2 stips of bacon, and 1 slices of toast for breakfast at 6am yesterday, and the rest of the day I ate only raw vegetables and fruit and 1 gallon of tap water. I noticed that I passed my bowels twice yesterday and have been blowing my nose since yesterday. I always blow my nose because I'm so congested, but it's usually difficult for the mucus to pass through. I didn't have this morning or yesterday. I also usually only pass my bowels once per day after my heaviest meal. Is it possible that my body could be trying to clean itself already despite the fact my diet was better but far from perfect? My neck feels a little cramped today also for some reason.rawfood , " Peter Gardiner " <petergardiner@e...> wrote: > Lilli, Do not worry about protein. > > What your body looks for is carbohydrate and it gets too much of that > anyway by the sound of things. Guest guest
Hi Lili, The protein myth is one of those things that we are programmed to think throughout our lives, but is not at all conected to reality. I discovered that I recovered much quicker from workouts eating greens then I did eating animal protein. Eat sweet fruit for energy, and leafy greens to grow muscle. It's difficult to eat enough greens. I bought a green star " mastricating " juicer and juice a lot of leafy greens each day. The greener the better. Kale, spinich, dandylion(sp) collards ect. They tast good eaten whole, but drinking them takes some getting used to. If you feel tired from exercise, you need rest, not protein. You will feel that your muscles are not sore for long. As far as diet goes. I eat fruit for breakfast, greens for lunch, and greens and fats for dinner (avacado, cold pressed flax seed oil). I eat fruit for snacks in between meals. If your just starting out, it might be a good idea to carry a large bag of apples around with you. When you get food cravings, eat as many apples as possible. They will subside when your stuffed with apples. Its not easy to detox, but for me, the faster the better. You will not die from it, but it might make you feel uncomfortable. Don't worry about over eating in the beginning. Eat all the time. Slowely, you will be able to eat less. Hope this helps. Guest guest
Lilli In that case start with a meal or two of juicing rather than a day or two of juicing. When you get off the whet your nose or mucous problem will subside. Tomorrow get a bag of apples and eat them all for breakfast. I bet you have never even tried that for breakfast? Guest guest
Hi Peter, Me eat a bag of apples? lol Oh boy, that will be a challenge. I'll eat as many as possible. Does it matter if they are red or gree? I prefer the green. I can't wait until my cravings change and I no longer have to fight my urges. I will take your advice and start with a meal or two first. Guest guest
I'll keep that in mind Peter, why is ripe better? Now I just need to learn how to recognize when a particular fruit is ripe. Lili

Guest guest
The point is that there are more carbohydrates in ripe fruit. You need that sugar and do not kid yourself that the sugar in ripe fruit is " fattening " There are usually four tests for ripe fruit. 1. Colour 2. Smell 3. Feel 4. Taste Do them in that order and if it tastes good, eat it!
