Guest guest
How much sunlight and fresh air does a person need? If someone works 10-12 hours indoors without windows which open and they rarely have free time to spend outside during the day, what is the minimum amount of sunlight and freshair they should aim for? Is a 30 minute lunch break sufficient? 15 minutes? 10 minutes? I notice that many of the vegan books I'm reading stress sunlight and fresh air. Guest guest
One hour of non-prime sunlight should suffice. Preferably before ten as this is know to trigger chemistry in the brain to prevent depression. When I was very ill I found this instrumental in my well being. The easiest way to do this is exercise first thing in the morning outdoors. You get exercise, deep breathing, prayer, sunshine, meditation and focus on the coming day in a one shot deal. Guest guest
> One hour of non-prime sunlight should suffice. Preferably before ten as this is know to trigger chemistry in the brain to prevent depression. -- Sunlight striking the eys and to lesser effect, the skin, triggers the brain to stop producing the sleep hormone melatonin. When melatonin stops, serotonin, the feel good waking hormone begins. Low levels of serotonin are responsible for SAD, " Seasonally affected disorder " or winter blues. The protocol is 40 minutes of indirect sunlight in the morning. Bright light coming in a window will do for this. Sunlight on the skin stimulates Vitamin D production. How long depends upon your skin pigmentation. rusty - <abrs <rawfood > Thursday, November 13, 2003 1:22 PM Re: [Raw Food] Sunlight & Fresh Air > One hour of non-prime sunlight should suffice. Guest guest
Lilli, If you poke " Daylight Therapy " into a search engine you should land on all sorts of interesting reading. Such is hardly raw food but humans were made to live in daylight and tend get gloomy without it.
