Guest guest
Peter, On a long fast people have spontaneous bowel movements. I met a guy who had three bowel movements during a 7.5 week water fast. So even on a long fast a colonic is not necessary. Dr. Shelton conducted over 50,000 fasts. He experimented with colonics and eventually found out that the patients that didn't do the colonic had better long-term results. Roger Do You Have These Problems With Your Raw Food Diet? 1. Their view is that it is better to clean your gut by eating naturally. They make the argument that you can wash out all the " good " bacteria of the intestine as well as the bad by eating properly and letting nature tip out in its own way. I take the view that when you have a long fast, there is a good case for washing out the toxins that will get dumped in the intestine as you detoxify. They could get drawn into the blood again and cause headaches and more. Some say that matter in the colon does not seep into the blood in which case how do the French manage to consume so many suppositories successfully? It cannot be just because they are French. It is my opinion that the value of a colon cleans on a fast of less than ten days is questionable and that if a long water fast is taken you will feel much better after each wash. However the hydrotherapist should give you something to help restore gut fauna on the last wash. The big thing about the fast is it reduces the craving and the tendency to cheat, binge, lapse and so forth. If these practices become a pest the best cure I can think of is indeed to go on a fast. I'm considering the Cleanstart program by Nature's Sunshine to clean my colon and system prior to changing my eating habits. I've heard many good things about it and believe the reason my body may feel the urge to regurgitate after eating raw fruits and veggies is because there is so much cooked food and junk from present and years ago still lingering in my system that needs to be cleaned out. I read once that the body craves what is most present in the body. So I think a good internal cleaning may work wonders. http://www.naturessunshine.com/products/catalog/products.asp? stocknum=3999 & language=

Guest guest
Roger Interesting. I suppose the body would expel if left long enough. I never had bad side effects so my experience is limited. Will bear in mind what you say.
