They come in three sizes, and it really does help to have at least a

large, and a medium.

I'm assuming this refers to whatever is inside the coconut but why do

they call it meat if a coconut is a fruit.

Is there a special way to open a coconut or pineapple? OR will a

sharp knife do it for both? I've never purchased a fresh coconut or

pineapple only frozen or canned.

Margie,

They look great! Do they sell them here in the US?

Lilli,

As you have had no scholarly response, may I speculate that in those

places where the coconut was found by the English speakers, the local

reverence and word for the flesh might well have been akin to meat

meaning the strong part of the diet. Now we get so much good press

about the wonders of young coconut oil that I would not be surprised.

I still don't understand why they call it meat. Is that just an

expression for what's inside the coconut? :) Lili

I suspected the word " meat " was being utilized as a visual

description rather literally, but wasn't sure so I thought I'd ask to

be on the safe side. There is never a dumb question right? Thanks

Peter for clearing that up. My ignorance to healthy food is shining

through. lol Lili rawfood , " Peter Gardiner "

To distinguish it from the 'milk', the liquid inside the meat. And I suppose

they call it milk because it looks like milk, but it sure doesn't taste like

it:)
