As everyone can tell I'm like a sponge soaking up tons of knowledge

from all of you. In fact, I'm so enthusiastic about this that if

there were a school here in illinois that offered degrees in Natural

Healing with an emphasis on Clinical Practice in Natural Medicene I'd

join A.S.A.P. I've been thinking of returning to college in 2004 but

couldn't decide what I wanted to major in. This is great timing.

I would like to become educated in all aspects of Natural

Healing....herbology, iridology, Oriental Medicine, raw food

preparation, and other related aspects. Although I'll learn something

new daily, I realize to become educated in all these aspects it will

take me a few years which is fine, I'll be living longer with my new

dietary changes right? LOL

I've been doing a lot of research and all the accredited schools seem

to be located in California, Florida, and other states, with the

exception of a few reputable online schools such as Clayton. Although

I'm sure the online schools are great, I would really prefer a

classroom setting so that I could interact with people in person and

learn from actually seeing, smelling, and touching varies herbs,

props, ect that may be utilized in the classes. It would also give me

the opportunity to network with people who have similar

interests...which is very important to me.

If anyone has any information on Illinois schools or workshops please

don't hesitate to let me know or if you are aware of related areas of

study please mention those as well so that I can decide what classes

to begin with. Even if the schools are not located in Illinois or are

only online I'd be interested just out of curiosity. I think I may

begin with raw food cuisine and a few herbology classes.

I came across a school in California that seemed to offer a little of

everything called Samra University. I only wish they had an Illinois

location.

My only regret is that I didn't learn about all of this in my younger

years. :)

Thanks

I keep getting a message saying my message didn't post. If this posts

more than once...my apologies.

In case anyone is interested I came across this link on careers in

Natural Healing.

http://www.naturalhealers.com/questions.htm

They have a listing of schools in different states here:

http://www.naturalhealers.com/find.shtml

Some of the careers discussed are Herbal Medicine, Homeopathy,

Naturopathy, Holistic Health Practitioner, and other titles I've

never heard of. :)
