Question for all raw foodists---

Do you guys use apple cider vinegar? Is it raw???

---Jenny

I had saved this quote from a previous post:

" If you don't know about Apple Cider Vinegar, you should. In sharp

contradistinction to synthetic vinegars, which are extracted from coal

tar

(yep, you read right) and are extremely destructive to the body; natural,

organic apple cider vinegar may be considered a natural panacea. It is

truly a gift for just about anything that ails ya. "

Is this bermuda grass? Oh I hate that stuff! I have put STRAIGHT vinegar on

it, but you have to trim it first... and no, it doesn't poison the ground...

a lot of plants like it a little acidic... also, I'd bury a barrier around

the garden, or you'll NEVER stop having to do this.

In my perennial garden I have an invasive grass which

travels by deep underground running roots. Digging it

only causes more as it cuts the root. If I paint it

with vinegar, will it poison the ground so that it

can't be planted? I'm really desperate to solve this

problem as it has infiltrated my garden. Thank you for

all the information which I have received from so many

of you.

Yes, vinegar is a good weedicide. :o) specially if you trim them and let the

vinegar get inside the plant... then dead as doornail. I am a hands on weed

puller, myself, but with bermuda grass... more is needed.

I missed some of this thread, so I apologize if this is a duplicate

question. Will vinegar get rid of the nasty, broadleaf weeds

Robin... I don't blame you... but remember, we try to do our organic best,

but sometimes, you just can't. If you HAVE to use round up or something, don't

beat yourself up... you've done your best to reduce chemical usage.... I was

told this in an organic forum... just sometimes you have to give in. :o)

Robyn,

Thanks for the tip. I had to declare a portion of my backyard as " reclaimed

Illinois prarie " and was threatening to send my spouse to Home Depot in the

middle of the night for something toxic.

You're welcome! I hate the stuff more than you can imagine... I've even

stooped to using Round Up... and it ALMOST shrugs off Round Up! You gotta stay

on

this stuff... every day check for it creeping over the boundaries... it's

the only way.

Thank you more than you could ever imagine. I think it

is Bermuda grass. Had a barrier but it went right over

it :>( I'm going to attack it with the vinegar and

then deep a line of vinegar around the bed and see if

that helps. Wish the deer would eat that grass LOL!
