Guest guest
I usually try to steer clear of these little e-mails that tend to get sent back and forth with what sounds like picking a fight. I definitely understand the need for trimming posts to where one has the part of the original message at the end of the reply. For me, it is because I get the digest version. But only in regards to where someone replies to a digest and doesn't trim anything. I can never tell where the end of that message ends and the rest of the digest continues because there is then at least 2 complete digests together. Sometimes I just give up in frustration and delete the whole thing, after I get to the end of the message that wasn't trimmed because I keep seeing all these posts that I know I've read. That is all I have to say on this matter. But I know others get the digest version and may agree how confusing it gets when there are 2 or more digests within one. Guest guest
I receive Digests for every group I am a member of. I am rarely able to check my email every day so it is much easier to read each groups postings in one continuous email instead of 25 seperate ones. I too, find it very frustrating to read through 6 copies of the same post just to see what the next person had to say. (If you notice, here in this message I left in only what I have directly responded to, though the subject makes it very clear what this message is about.) More often than not when I encounter a digest full of untrimmed posts I simply delete it as I do not have the time to weed through everything I have already read at least once. Anyway, to cut this email short, Roger, I am all for trimming posts, I vow to always trim posts here and in every group I post on. I understand your frustration and am also smart enough to read the subject or a post and the little snippets that are left after trimming to figure everything out on my own. Keep up the good work...I don't find you anal at all. ) Kimberly > I can never tell where the end of that message ends and the rest of the > digest continues because there is then at least 2 complete digests together. > Sometimes I just give up in frustration and delete the whole thing, after I > get to the end of the message that wasn't trimmed because I keep seeing all > these posts that I know I've read. Guest guest
I'm really new to this list, and don't know anything about raw foods, so haven't contributed anything, but I don't understand what the uproar is about re trimming posts - which is a netiquette *requirement* or every well managed list I've ever been on in the last 10 years or so. If the gentlemen wants to view posts in total, read them online and click on " Expand Messages. " One person shouldn't be the deciding factor in a very well-established and ubiquitous requirement. Thanks, Connie
