A FEW SPACES LEFT: 3 MEALS + TAKE HOME FOOD + RECIPE BOOKS

There are also a few spaces left in the Graffs' two day-long workshops on how

to make tasty raw foods recipes. Saturday's workshop, on December 6, will

focus on the basics of raw recipes and Sunday's, on December 7, will be on how

to

make gourmet raw foods. Both workshops will be held from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.,

at a Sarasota location, and will feature a lecture and recipe demos. Both

workshops include a raw foods breakfast, lunch and dinner for all participants,

who

will also be given recipe books plus additional food to take home.

Jackie is a gourmet raw foods chef, educator, health and nutrition consult

ant, registered nurse, and a 100 percent raw foodist. The creator and chef of

Atlanta's Sprout Café, she has been on channel 5, Good Day Atlanta, and WSB

Channel 4. She has written 15 recipe theme books on all types of raw food,

ranging

from brunch to holiday fare.

Gideon is a raw food chef, health coach, and director of Sprout Raw Food. He

has been raw for seven years and has 35 years experience in food and

hospitality management. Together, he and Jackie lost 150 pounds and were able to

stop

taking medications for blood pressure, cholesterol and more by switching to a

raw foods lifestyle.

The tuition for the all-day workshops is $150 per person per workshop.

Couples taking one workshop pay a reduced rate of $250 and individuals or

couples

taking both workshops receive a reduced rate as well, $290 for individuals and

$500 for couples. To make reservations, call Gideon at 1-770-992-9218, or

e-mail him at gideon It's best to call as soon as possible to

ensure your space in the workshops, as the number of students will be limited to

20 in each class.

Here is what one local woman writes about the class she took with Jackie

Graff:

I wanted to let everyone know what a wonderful experience I had

recently, learning from Jackie Graff at a raw foods class that Owen and I

went to in Atlanta just before Thanksgiving. In the class, Jackie presented

raw food recipes for a Thanksgiving Feast.

It was fantastic! For the typical raw food substitute for turkey, she

created nutloaf " Noasted Nurkey, " ringed with a sprouted wild rice

dressing. She also converted many other traditional dishes to gourmet

raw, including mushroom gravy, squash casserole, cranberry orange

sauce and sweet potato casserole. We truly had a feast!

The reason I'm writing is because all the recipes are really good!

Last Christmas, I threw away some recipes I made because they were

just awful, even though they were from recognized chefs. I was so

excited to find the really good food that was beautifully presented at

Jackie's class! All of her dishes were highly impressive, no doubt

because of her extensive background. Many years ago, she was a gourmet

chef who then became a gourmet vegetarian chef and later on a gourmet

raw foods chef. Each time she moved on to a new cuisine, she

translated her skills and experience in the art and science of food

preparation.

As you may know, when Owen and I started on raw foods we trained for 10

full days at the Living Foods Institute in Atlanta, where we learned

many gourmet recipes and how to prepare and present them. We have also

eaten at many raw food restaurants in Atlanta and New York City. So.

when I say this is really good food you can believe it, because I have

tasted a lot of chefs' creations by comparison.

Jackie Graff will be teaching right here in Sarasota this weekend, so

anyone here can easily and conveniently learn from this outstanding

leader in the raw foods movement. You don't want to miss this

opportunity to taste truly gourmet raw food and increase your own

culinary skills!

I'd really appreciate it if people posting events would list the City and

State prominently near the top of event messages.

Hear! hear! I second that.

I find it annoying and frustrating to have to dig through an event's

listing in order to find out where in the world it's being held.
