Guest guest
Hi! Our family is new to this list and are planning to start a raw food diet Jan. 1. I am in the process of preparing raw snacky type foods to aid in ease of switching over. We plan to go 100% raw. I am looking at juicers right now and trying to decide which I like better but would like some input on the Omega 8002, the Green Star, or the Samson Ultra. I want to make things like veggie burgers and wonder if one would be better for this than others. Most recipes call for a Champion Juicer but I really want a better quality of a juicer. Thanks for the input!! Kris
Guest guest
Kris; This is my opinion only. Juicing is NOT the way to go because it makes too much fast release glucose available and leads to insulin resistance and toward type 2 diabetes. Eat food. Drink Water. But, having said that, A blender is most effective so you can blend those blueberries with some greens and fiber and a raw egg and make a magnificent smoothie with the fiber intact. For your veggie burger stuff, a food processor is better than a juicer. rusty - " Steve W Ellis " <weareqf <rawfood > Tuesday, December 09, 2003 10:20 AM [Raw Food] Intro and question > Hi! > Our family is new to this list and are planning to start > a raw food diet Jan. 1. Drink Water. Valid point. I juice pretty much every day, mostly because I have TMJ and too much chewing makes my jaw hurt. I'd take Rusty's opinion into account, and perhaps juice mostly greens if you're going to juice. > For your veggie burger stuff, a food processor is better than a juicer. > Really? I find that my Champion gets stuff much smoother than my food processor. Maybe I just need a new blade... Bridgitte

We use a Vita-Mix blender, a Cuisinart Food Processor, AND a Green Star Juicer constantly. I feel they each have their place in the kitchen and certainly make my life a lot easier while preparing things for DH. He's having a harder time with transition than I am. Guest guest
Hi, I am recently new to the group. I live in Northern Ca. and have been maintaining a 90% raw diet for the past 2 1/2 years. I just wanted to let you know, Kris, that we have a greenstar juicer. I love it! It is pretty much great at juicing, grinding everything except citrus. I hear it's one of the best, a little pricey but worth it. Shira Hi! Our family is new to this list and are planning to start a raw food diet Jan. 1.
