Guest guest
All, Am getting flack from a family lawyer about going on a 40 day fast. I did a 28 day fast to clean out toxins. What good medical defence is there for fasting? At the moment I can only think that if 40 day fast wrong then there should be a warrant to arrest Jesus Christ! The raw diet I can easily defend and I have text on detox which might do but it would be great if I could come up with more medical testimony. All contributions welcome Peter
Guest guest
Well, given my last post, my answer was exactly what you said about Jesus! If you believe the Bible, you don't need any other justification for a 40 day fast, but you will be persecuted, no doubt. It's part of the package. Dr. Furhman's book on long-term fasting has some good stuff in it documenting the benefits of long-term fasting. He did a 46 day fast and was cured of a severe injury thereby. Remember though that some folks are never going to be convinced. Guest guest
Thanks Susan, I may simply end up with a bibliography of 100 titles on fasting by MDs and belittle the frump with that. Thanks for the Fuhrman reference. I have James F Balch MD Prescription for Nutritional healing. A good book even for raw foodists on illness I think Peter Susan [susan_wilkinson] 10 December 2003 17:43 rawfood [Raw Food] Re: In defence of fasting Well, given my last post, my answer was exactly what you said about Jesus!
