Guest guest
Hi all, My 21 yr old has had what I consider androgen acne since she started college. Stress increases androgen production. She and I both have always eaten well (little dairy and wheat- have sensitivities)and tried to juice regularly. The last few years due to a chiropractors advice we both began the low carb-high protein diet. Her boyfriend a college athlete told her to eat tons of meat. I wonder to if the acne is worse because of meat consumption. I stopped about a month ago and went raw. She is home now on break and wants to go raw(is but having a tough time transitioning off of meat). Mainly to see if her acne would clear. Does anyone have experience with this kind of acne or know someone else that the raw diet has helped with acne? I told her I would post to see. She needs the encouragement. I'll be gone until Sunday so if you post I won't respond until then. TIA, Nina
Guest guest
My girlfriend is 39 and had suffered from bad acne all of her life. 6 months into going raw, it is completely gone. I swear that her scars are healing like I could never imagine possible. Guest guest
Hi Nina, Acne has al lot to do with milk products of all kinds. It seems to be some kind of allergic reaction and shows that milk is not useful for human beings in general. We all react in some way that no doctor considers to be a reaction to milk products. My own acne disappeared completely, even the pores are finer now than one would think after suffering from that severe acne. Guest guest
Hello Nina, Meat production involves a lot of hormones and antibiotics, so this might be exacerbating her acne. I don't know about that kind of acne, but I just started being vegan (and so have a greater percentage of raw and at least less processed foods) and my rosacea has cleared up a bit. -sb o_ravonelle <nbozarth wrote: Hi all, My 21 yr old has had what I consider androgen acne since she started college. Guest guest
Another thought process with acne. After years of being a vegetarian I was developing some hormonal imbalances (not related). It was suggested to me that I start consuming organic animal protein. Acne did not get better and frankly, either did my hormonal issues. I am about 70% raw at this point and the raw diet has made a tremendous difference in my skin. I mention this as a lot of skin conditions are hormonally related and cleaning yourself out as much as possible puts the least amount of stress on your pituitary/endocrine system, which in turn does not have to process out toxins through your skin. Guest guest
nina, you are absolutely right - the last 2 years my hormones have been so messed up and i ended up with a ton of skin and acne problems. i hope the raw (just started) will help with that as well. -birte Another thought process with acne. Guest guest
I generally do not have skin problems unless my nerves get bad. If I am under any kind of stress (even if it's subconscious) my face will break out. Peace, Yvette In a message dated 1/7/2004 1:05:01 PM Eastern Standard Time, ndunham writes: > . Guest guest
Dear Birte, I am sure it will. At the very least, you are giving your skin the best in nutrients to battle whatever irregularities you may have going on. I am still pretty in flux with my overall energy levels but know I am on the right track with the raw foods. Of course, I feel like a rabbit, but a healthy rabbit.
