losing weight

When I saw Vict. B in person (just a few months ago), I asked her how

much she weighed cause she sure looked big for a raw vegan. She said 160

lbs, and that she should weigh 140.

IMO, she is probably overeating NUTS with all those burgers that Igor

makes.

Jenny near San Diego

once 215lbs, now size 10 at 130lbs

>In Victoria's book, " 12 Steps to Raw " She said that the lipase in

avocados helps break down body fat. She said the more she ate the more

weight she lost. I was looking for someone else that might had this

experience because I am aware, as you, of their high fat content.

Of course saying how to lose weight is the easiest thing in the world.

Any four year old child could tell you how.

The problem is executing the obvious. Cooked food is an addiction.

First problem is that you have a whole ecosystem living in your gut that

needs its fix three times a day with lots of processed food. When you are

rid of that lot the task gets easier. A fast is a good way to start and then

eat lots of vegetables every time a craving comes on. If you do not like the

idea of a water fast, try juicing. If the vegetable juicing gets bitter-

try throwing in an apple. It may give a little wind but it will take the

bitterness off. You will never gain weight eating vegetables and the

greener the better. Of course you will " detoxify{ " which may lead to all

kinds of symptoms but slow down if any dizziness comes your way. Most

people take a few months to transition to 100% raw.

In answer to your question implying how much and how fast does the weight

come off, I suggest that there are individual differences but you will

straighten up very fast on this diet.

Hope this helps

Kudos Peter. Now that I'm rid of hopefully most of the cooked food

ecosystem in me, it is getting easier. I hope it gets even easier

after a few months raw passes and I'd like to see my burgeoning

horniness die down too.

Yea, right, like I'm going to eat much raw cabbage. I don't think

so, but thanks for the suggestion. It's not a tasty item, almost on

that can't eat it because I can't make a meal out of it list.

No, my sex addiction will just have to die down in spite of the

avocados, but I would find it really challenging to give up the

nuts. I plan to at some point, just because they seem to just run

right through me and when I eat them I always overeat them for

emotional relief, especially at night.

Rich,

Sometimes I buy one of those red cabbages. I have found that taste is quite

a good guide. When they taste boring and dull I stop eating them. Strangely

the same cabbage can taste excellent at another time. I wonder about eating

those great big cabbages that are yellow on the inside. The yellow part is

not so good. A caveat I have is not to become too dependent on any one food.

I think David Wolfe put me on track there in his Sun Food Success Diet.

Have you thought of keeping a bio-rhythm diary of when during your

day/week you find certain foods more or less palatable?

Wonder if that would through up any surprises?

And for women what it would say about hormonal influences?

I've only seen the light green, not so great tasting, used for

coleslaw cabbage. But if I see any tasty red ones, maybe I'll try

one.

Spiritually, not so much physically, I don't want " to become too

dependent on any one food. " For now though, I NEED avocados and raw

nuts.

No. I'm not into the scientific angle at all really. I just eat

whatever raw plant food I want at any given moment. I trust my

intuition to tell me what's the next healthy choice. I don't want to

be too concerned about food, there's many more interesting things to

do than be concerned about food.
