Guest guest
Since I decided to go raw, that is what I did. I guess I don't have cravings. Though sometime I remember how much I used to enjoy something cooked, I don't eat it. I am learning the whys and the wherfores of going raw and know that it is the best thing for me and my health. I found some chocolate raw cookies at a health food store in CA and they are yummy. I had some great carrot cake at Cilantros and hope that I can find a recipe for it. Guest guest
I recently made the Carrot Fruit Cake (http://living-foods.com/recipes/carrotfruit.html) that I found in the excellent recipes section of living-foods.com - the cashew-based frosting is remarkably similar to the traditional cream cheese-based frosting for cooked carrot cake. Guest guest
I like the faux paus title of this one, carvings for cravings. Just what someone who's having cravings might say. I'm going through my own detox right now. I enjoyed reading about the " superbeing diet, " because that's what I eat, raw vegetables, fruits and nuts. I haven't gotten into seeds although they would be legal for me. I have nothing against avocados though. They're a staple to me, they help reduce the cravings to not eat raw. Well, I have a little over two weeks now of 100% raw. I'm still not used to it, of course, and I'd like to binge on cooked food for the mental relief, but I'm determined not to do it. I want to finally have a successful year at being raw and 2004 is long enough to have been trying. I type things up on forums on here, go to AA meetings, church gatherings and New Age activities when I get the chance. I'm also feeling a lot of sexual withdrawal, my dreams are very active in this regard, but I know food and sex go hand in hand for many humans. So, hopefully I'll heal in both areas as I go through my detox. I may try to go to the living-foods chat tonight. When I need to relax from all this spiritual, clean eating activity, I watch television. I watch a lot of the Simpson's for some off the wall humor with no personal growth involved. I got some raw cashews in the mail today from Nature's First Law, they still have the red skin on them which is interesting for cashews. I'll probably order some of there raw olives tomorrow, they tempted me with a flier. I don't like that they're " sun-dried " but I'll get them and I'll know with one bite if they're truly raw or not. I think they'll be. I don't eat dried products, the closest I come to that is dates. I hope everyone continues on with the raw struggle. Thanks for any responses. Guest guest
I'm glad raw diet is working out for you Rich. No harm in Simpson's, I personally watch it and have bought all the seasons on DVD's. Nothing can beat Homer's drooling over food. Guest guest
Sheree, www.living-foods.com and then they have a chat selection, it's 9pm eastern. Well, another raw day. I slept in some, a lot of processing going on. I'm having fun on my favorite spiritual forum about the Urantia Book (www.UBRON.org), if anyone has heard of it. Today I had meals of broccoli, tomato, melon, raw cashews, avocado, spinach, bell pepper, and greenbeans. I'll probably go to a meeting tonight or maybe a New Age activity on integrated breathing, and watch some shows and type up a little more on the internet here. Guest guest
Hi! Dry nuts contain enzyme inhibitors - they have to soaked in water for 24 hours. Alex
Guest guest
I don't soak nuts, I'll take my chances. Well, still raw, three weeks today. I have a plate of veggies that I work on in the refrigerator. I bought a delicious watermelon the other day. Still going to avocados for emotional relief. Same for nuts. I couldn't resist buying a bunch of raw nuts the other day. Pine nuts have an interesting taste. Well, I'm still staying with the basics, nibbling on my broccoli, carrot, bell pepper, sweet potato, spinach , tomato, etc. at each meal. I just eat when I'm hungry, about every three hours. I'm going through a lot of sexual feelings, I hope they pass someday without me doing something I don't want to do. There's just so much emotional pain with getting raw. Plus, I'm sure my body is physically detoxing. Oh well, Rome wasn't built in a day, and it's only been three weeks for me. I have to be willing to at least give it a few years before I can expect any lasting moral, spiritual growth. The AA meetings and church activities I go to are ok. I'd like to get the energy to travel into Philadelphia for SA and SLAA meetings, but I don't know when I'll be that ambitious. I'm enjoying reading my favorite spiritual books (the Urantia Book and A Course in Miracles) and typing up posts on a spiritual forum. I just have to be patient however, no amount of reading, study or work on myself is going to remove my character defects in a day or two. The energy that I have built up in my mind just doesn't work that way. I don't want to be troubled by anything, but that's just not how it works. i have to accept my problems without going backward, without eating other than raw. If I let go of being raw, I'll relapse on anything I can get my hands on. Carvings, what an appropriate faux pas, as my mind would like to carve something else as it's being carved by itself. rawfood , alex <telecom@i...> wrote: > Hi! > Dry nuts contain enzyme inhibitors - they have to soaked in water for 24 > hours. > Alex
