Nina,

Do you have any recipes for some tasty soups that you make the

most? Or do you just add this and that and come out with

something different each time? I would like to start making

soups again in my Vita-Mix. When I made them in the past, I

wasn't raw. I did try a carrot soup since being raw, and it

wasn't good at all! The carrots were too bitter and no matter

how much orange juice I added, it still tasted bad.

Does anyone have a recipe for a great tasting carrot soup?

Thanks in advance.

I eat a lot of health soup and use my vita mix every day. For

me,

it has been the indespensible kitchen appliance in going raw.

Actually, my staple is the Ann Wigmore Health Soup, which despite my

initial hesitancy, is actually quite tasty. This is how I make it:

Fill a Vitamix about half full with Rejuvelac. The receipe calls

for adding a teaspoon of dried dulce, but I got mine from the Maine

Seaweed Company (http://www.alcasoft.com/seaweed/) a company that I

have since found out is a raw fooder. He's a great guy with good

product and if anyone is looking for tighter control of their sea

veggies (knowing when it's harvested, locally harvested and

supporting local business) I would encourage you to check him out.

Also have gotten dulce from www.rawfood.com. Anyway, I digress. I

put some seaweed in and let it sit for 5-10 minutes or so to

rehydrate. Then I put in roughly 1/3 cup buckwheat sprouts, 1/3 cup

mung sprouts, 1 avocado and 1 apple and blend until smooth. I then

put in 1-1 ½ bunches kale or collard greens and blend until smooth.

For a smoother soup, add more Rejuvelac at the end.

I make I put the above in a jar and tout it to work. Sipping on

that during the day really helps me cut down on bad snacking (my

biggest weakness) plus gives me nutrients I know I need. The pureed

form of the vegetables is also good for people who are having

digestion issues in moving to raw foods. Finally, the sea veggies

are very good for those of us who seem to have thyroid issues, as

it's loaded with iodine. For those who hate the taste of sea

veggies, you can't taste it at all with all the other stuff.
