Guest guest
Sonia, I eat a fair amount of nuts and seeds in recipes. When I first became 100% raw, I even ate them as a snack, and still do occasionally. I have lost a over 42 pounds in 7 months since going vegan. I didn't become 100% raw until some time after the 3rd month--I was usually 80-100% raw during my transition time. I am trying to keep from losing too much more weight since I don't want to get thinner. I do realize that I've also lost some muscle, and am working at building some back up. I am also eating lots of bananas, dates and smoothies, but I'm still losing weight. I only get weighed once every 2-3 weeks, when I go to the doctors for a spinal adjustment. Each time, I expect the weight to have stopped dropping. Last week, I had dropped 1 1/2 pounds in 2 weeks. How much nuts do you eat? Are you eating any animal products? Did you lose a lot at the beginning? Maybe your body is leveling out. Viveca ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Vita-Mix -- For Nutrition You Can Taste! Guest guest
I also crave nuts. I have been 100% raw since dec. about 2 months and have lost 20lbs but I was not fat to bigin with. I have lost so much now I am condisered very skinny and before I was not. I just recently have been cutting back on the peanut butter. Last night I ate about 2 tbsp of peanut butter and it gave me gas. I was 1651bs in high school and I was very muscular, now I am skinny. I would like to gain some weight back. i weight 1351bs. I used to try and do 1 leg squat to the ground and today I did one on each side. Squat with one leg holding on to nothing and try to squat all the way to the ground with one leg parallel to the ground. I am definately more limber with the weight gone. And leg injuries have almost vanished with the weight off from playing raquetball. rawfood , Sonia <soniaoxo> wrote: > Hi Viveca, > > Something most be wrong witn me cause everybody that > still eat nuts still loose weight except me, I am > 100% raw/vegan for 7 months now and I have yet to > loose 15 pounds. Guest guest
Sonia, Its not you. It is the nuts. Most nuts are dried to stop them going mouldy. Brazil nuts for example do not come out of their shells easily until they are heated. Fresh nuts can be tasted in an instant but if you have any doubts just sprout them. If they go soft but do not sprout, you have your answer. Just throw them away. Your body will not digest them properly and what it cannot deal with will end up as fat in your body. Peter Hope this helps Sonia [soniaoxo] 26 January 2004 03:16 rawfood RE: [Raw Food] NUTS! Guest guest
Hi Viveca, I lost much, too, and finally I have finished to be very slim and I do not lose anymore. However, I do not worry about beeing too slim. I think the human body is very wise and it trys to have an ideal weight according its needs. I do not compare myself with others, they eat in total different " normal " way. Each type of alimentation produces other effects. I could see it eating " normally " , than as a vegetarian, and finally as a fruitarian. I could see it very well especially in periods of making exceptions, Katarina Viveca Park <vivecapark wrote: Sonia, I eat a fair amount of nuts and seeds in recipes.
