Guest guest
..... you're claiming with no doubt that a " raw food diet is the healthiest diet " , right?? So that means you must have some proof- so show me.... I don't wanna see Pottenger cat studies, " 'cause David Wolfe said so " , links to Herbert Shelton's books, etc.. I wanna see REAL results!! Show me pictures of yourself. I constantly HEAR a lot of TALK and read crap on PAPER about how it is sooo superior in regards to health, so now I just figured that it's time that I SEE in REALITY what is sooo different about it. If raw food is the key to " paradise health " , then I should expect to see one hell of a body, right?? Lean, robust, athletic and vascular with bulging muscles, thick shiny hair, a glowing complexion, tight smooth skin, clear glowing eyes, pearly white teeth- pretty much a body that would stand out and make the " Men's Health " cover models envious I would assume. Now I've seen some pics of some others that claim the same thing as you, and I was a little disappointed to say the least- pale, scrawny and frail, thin hair, and just " sickly " lookiing in general, but they assured me that it was just part of their " detox " , so I reserved judgement even though some of them were still " detoxin' " after 5 years. But I've gotta good feelin' about ya' Peter!! I mean someone out their livin' this lifestyles' gotta be through " detoxin' " by now and I think you're the one- the one that can make me finally believe by seeing it- seeing something " different " , something that " stands out from the crowd. " Thanks, and I look forward to being blown away by your results!!!! Oh, and if you've gotten a physical lately I sure would be interested in seeing those " off the chart " numbers too!!! Guest guest
Eric, Are you not here to try to live the raw lifestyle? I just started to eat more raw veggies and cut out the meat from my life and it's not bad. My sinuses cleared up, and when I eat junk food like potato chips (my weakness) I feel tired for hours. Isn't the problem with people who are looking pale that they are missing some B12 or something like that? This is the main concern from friends and family when it comes to going vegan, raw isn't as much the problem as vegan is. I said it's because they are lacking some vitamins but that I'm not going to do it unless I can be sure I am getting them all. Is this something the Raw Secrets book will tell me? One more thought: You know how people with high blood pressure have a pink/reddish tint to them? Is it possible that we lose red/pink tint being blood pressure might go down with a healthy diet like this? Just wondering what others' thoughts are on this. Guest guest
All, This guy Eric sent me a long winded e-mail by accident I think. He was a weightlifter who went raw, and after a couple of months he went on a 31 day fast. Surprise, surprise he felt like crap, and almost died. He lost a lot of weight, a lot of his hair, and is now quite angry about it. As far as healthy looking raw fooders, there are tons of em, if you choose to look. Erik, I hope your health is back on track. I'm sorry that you had bad luck with the raw food diet, but there is no need to seek revenge on this forum. Guest guest
Eric, Sorry to disappoint you. Before and after pictures would not tell you much. I lead the life of a bon viveur until the age of 54. I ate and drank and smoked enormously from the age of 18. For long period in my life I ate five course meals three times a day. On a few occasions I would have an early lunch then meet someone and have a second lunch and then return home to find a third one all ready. I neither became fat nor alcohol dependent. I tried stopping nicotine without success many times. I took no other hard or soft drugs, save caffeine of which I drank about 20 cups a day. I lived a stressful, nerve driven, life but my faculties were declining. The energy and memory levels were weakening. I walked as far as the car. Life was a sip sip all day long getting a " fix " of coffee, cigarette, alcohol, food, and other stimuli including afternoon naps, to keep me focussed. One day, when I felt pain in my legs from a short walk, I went to a doctor who sent me to a specialist who gave me the news that I have Buergers Disease. He said I was far too late for a turn around. Another Doctor told me that I had the wrong disease - almost anything would be easier to treat than Buergers. It is a form of heart disease. I think that long ago in the forum that I mentioned that the Cardio specialist said he would be with me all the way as he cut my toes, fingers, feet, ankles, legs, arms and so forth off before heart failure nailed me in a box. This is what happens to 87% of suffers of Buergers as I understand. At that time I gave myself 2 more uncomfortable years to live. I looked at my 11 year old son and felt emotions that I cannot express. I checked the internet and the message was clear. I had to change my lifestyle. I have and 5 years later I am alive with nothing cut off and this progressive degenerative disease is in retreat. I can nearly jog to the point where I get a second wind, whereas before I felt pain in walking 50 yards. I could not even start breathing fast from exercise. An Internet site told me that I could expect an improvement of 30% in walking distance in an hour and another a 50% improvement. I can walk 300% and more of that marker that I laid down then. The medics gave me a whole pile of drugs but I phased them all out. The medics now say that I do not need their potions. The surgery that was strongly recommended is now regarded as not necessary. However I have blood tests and take the odd supplement when indicated. Right now I have the problem of too much iron in the blood. I never had all the problems of craving and lapsing and my energy levels have shot up. I do not have anabolic muscles to show you which normally store fat. I have lost about a stone (14lbs) and only weigh 8 stone 4 lbs for a height of 5'10 " . I think that if I did exercises with the upper body I would gain weight. Pictures will show you little. People tell me that I look much younger than I am but that may not be the case. Now I am a much calmer person with much better health. If you want to speak to me and see me you can on Messenger. I have a web camera. My ID is peterpfgardiner On the down side, if I eat a potato crisp which happened twice, within 20 minutes I sneezed! You have my sympathy about reading crap. I make no claims to going to great spiritual health, nor do I have any delusions about being a super being and nor do I seek such a path. However I do feel a great deal fitter than I have ever been in my life since my teens when I was successful in school sport. My mental attitude is a whole lot better as well. I am in harmony now; before I was a wreck. Hope this does not disappoint too much. Guest guest
Rufus, I can see that a weight lifter would feel crap on a raw diet. To build up those overdeveloped muscles such as Arnie had you need to eat and incredible amount of food which will get dumped around the body. After I went on a long fast, I felt my body rebuild on a different metabolism and was both stronger and fitter.
