What are the symptoms of a defienciency of B12? I am not raw yet but I do have terrible eating habits. I was in the hospital in September and I showed improper levels of everything that they tested in my body. I guess I should work harder on me now before transitioning to raw huh? Guest guest
Many other foods have B12. All Sea vegetables, unpasteurized soy miso and soy tempeh, Nutritional yeast. (here is a recipe) 'Egg' Salad Seasoning Mix Which Came First To-fu or Eggs This recipe has been known to fool even egg salad fanatics. Red Star Nutritional Yeast vegetarian support formula is a dairy replacement that's used as a seasoning or added to popcorn, juice or cereal. It is high in vitamin B12 and sold in C bulk at some health food stores. Try a cholesterol-free vegan mayonnaise made from silken tofu, soybean oil and evaporated cane juice. Stuff Eggless Egg Salad into a pita, or spread it on whole-graft bread. A double batch will keep in the fridge for one week. The seasoning mix will keep indefinitely in a sealed jar. 2 cups Red Star Nutritional Yeast 2 tbsp each: turmeric, onion powder 1 tbsp celery salt 4 tsp garlic powder 1 tsp black pepper In blender, mix all ingredients into powder, about 1, minute. Makes about 21/3 cups. Eggless Egg Salad 1 lb (500 g) firm tofu, squeezed, crumbled 1/4 cup minced onion 1h cup vegan mayonnaise 2 tbsp 'Egg' Salad Seasoning Mix ½ tsp turmeric Sea salt, pepper to taste In large bowl, mix all ingredients. As for the wheat grass juice,(it is highly alkalizing (8.5pH) will clean most of your toxins out) as for cobalt and B12 http://www.living-foods.com/articles/b12issue.html Read what conditions remove the B12. (note that most meats on the market contain antibiotics since 80% of all antibiotics are used by the farmed animals) The 1 micro gram) of vitamin B12 of B12 daily (USDA is 6 mcg). Actually the same condition can be said for strong bones. jennysilliman wrote: Howard wrote: >The wheatgrass will also have B12 since it has the element cobalt... ----- O.K. you guys-- Our body makes B12 (ideally, right?) so the wheatgrass doesn't actually HAVE B12, right? Guest guest
the treeoflife writeup is good, however the author calls nutritional yeast, a B-12 supplementation, yet if you use it it to make 'egg' spread, it becomes a food. I am sure you can use it in other recepes. Maybe members come post more. (Please do not ignore the B12 report (http://www.living-foods.com/articles/b12issue.html) It talks about the antibioticfoods you should not eat foods you should not eat, to help digestion beworring on b12.to have B12 http://www.fruitnut.net/index2.htm?PAG=50B12Cont,REF= More on B12 and fermenting your own food to get the b12 (Fermentation can be fun and have health rewards, If any members are knowledge on of foods please past some knowledge. If not, I will do some research, ask yogi friends, to post you more details on fermenting.) http://www.rawenergy.net/growth_wheatgrass.html (the features of wheatgrass and barleygrass (they both have B12)) (when I was part of they old veggienews group, the members say they amaze their doctor by having a good B12 report without eating any animal foods) Peter Gardiner <petergardiner wrote: Try this, http://www.treeoflife.nu/ewellness.html Peter
