Guest guest
I was wondeing if any one has had stomach problems when they first went raw? I am having the worst problems - Really bad gas, bloating, etc... Did this happen to anyone else? Is it all the fiber? Does it eventually go away as the body gets used to it? And if so about how long does it take? I know I get enough water because I drink 64 ounces a day, as well as exercise, so I am not sure what to do. Thanks, nyia

Guest guest
Yes, I had severe bloating and gas. Eventually after about a week or so it clears up and you feel so much better. It's the raw food pushing out all of the bad food you have sitting in your body. You're detoxifying yourself, and it's not a comfortable process. Trust me it gets better! I promise! Guest guest
It seems to me that I once read that pregnant women shouldn't eat ginger.......so if anyone is pregnant...please check on that first.....Linda - Linda Hatton rawfood Tuesday, February 17, 2004 4:41 PM Re: [Raw Food] Stomach problems? Hi Everyone- I got this from another list that I'm on. I'm wondering if you can eat ginger root raw... " My Chinese Acupuncturist/herbalist has recommended Ginger root tea for my acid stomach/digestive issues. It works very well. Buy some ginger root, boil/steam a small piece (about a 1/4 inch piece) in a cup plus of pure water for about 10 minutes. After using this for several days, you can try adding one drop of YL peppermint oil in the tea. The combination of ginger and peppermint is excellent for settling the stomach. Guest guest
Pregnant women should not eat ginger??? I have always heard that it's GREAT for first trimester nausea! As a matter of fact, I gave it to my daughter in her first trimester for just this reason. Why would it not be good? Marilyn Mom of eight VERY interesting kids, and proud grandma-to-be of TWINS! Guest guest
There's always a detox involved in getting raw. For some it's worse and the conditions differ than for others. I remember having a discussion about not having enough bowel movements early on in my latest attempt at raw. I'm not sure what fiber you're eating. I just have raw vegetables, fruits, water and nuts on occasion. Physically, there hasn't been any major adjustments. I like my lifestyle now. I sleep around midnight and wake up easily around 5 am. I have good, positive energy all day long. Rich
