Hi everyone, ive been reading the list for a couple of days... and

thought i would introduce myself... im a vegan raising my daughter

vegan as well... i have thought bout introducing a raw lifestyle to

be healthier and various other reasons... i guess like everyone else

i need recipes..but i think that has to do with the addiction to

cooked food and always needing to cook ur food.. if that made any

sense... my daughter loves fruits and veggies and im gonna go out and

buy a juicer and dehydrator... does anyone eat any cooked food?? or

are most of you 100% raw... see i love my tofutti cream cheese and

cheese slices and soy milk...thats the only things i will have issues

with... where does everyone get their raw nuts?? up here in canada at

least where i live i cant find any... and im looking at making my own

garden here in my apt... ok now ive rambled... i will keep on

reading.. if anyone has any must have suggestions for a newbie let me

know..

hello tricia,

yes, i think recipes and making or buying raw foods that simulate

cooked foods or the SAD diet are just harpings for cooked food. i

need to let the whole cooked food, meat eating mentality go

completely, as completely as i can for mental peace of mind,

happiness and a conflict-free feeling.

i'm a 100% raw, saw you over at the 12 steps to raw forum, and I find

raw nuts in most food stores. In the u.s. we have costco's which

sells some, trader joe's which has a better selection. but the

average large supermarket sells some too. also, indian stores, if

you have any of those near you, sell raw nuts, like peanuts from

india, almonds, cashews, and pistachios.

i wouldn't convict yourself of rambling, it's not a big deal. and

why do most people have to sorry all the time for walking past you in

a doorway or something. what are they sorry about? moving forward.

i don't believe in just casting out the sorry expression

unconsciously. we don't have to be sorry for living and doing

things. it's a terrible false modesty, imo.

I am glad i have already let go of the meat eating... ive been vegan

for about 6 mnths now... i personally need recipes to experiment with

new vegetables and fruits ive never tried...

we have costco up here... and since canada is quite diverse

culturally... i can pretty much go to any street corner and there

will be an asian or indian store .... i will definately go in

sometime and take a look.. our local grocery store has a good organic

section, and we have a store called bulk barn that is specifically

deals in bulk foods but none are organic but there is raw nuts there

and priced quite cheaply...

I know that here in Montreal, one of the best places for raw nuts, seeds and

fresh dates are the Iranian shops. Great prices compared to the grocery or

health food store and fresh, too.
