Here's a list I've compiled!

It's LONG - so print these page(s) out for yourself for future reference

or make it a sig file like I did to share with others!

Shinui is a Hebrew language word meaning " change " or " transformation "

Certainly going from ribs, steak and potatoes to raw vegan is a major

transformation.

However, when you go 100% raw and living, other transformations seem to

occur naturally.

It has been observed that 100% live foods facilitate the following changes

naturally

LESS

TV, Movies, Radio, anger, arguing, fighting, conflict, headaches, cancer,

heart attacks, Dr. visits, heartburn, laziness, fright and fear.

MORE

Exercise, Sunshine, Fresh Air, Tranquility, Harmony, Peace, Healing,

Our local news station this week ran a story that showed that certain areas

of the brain are stimulated when one peels an apple. The area of the brain

that lit up on the scan was an area most often devoted to higher-level

thinking/problem-solving... It just got me thinking. Just imagine... if

cutting and

peeling an apple does this much good for our brain, IMAGINE how much

positive

juice is flowing to our brains on a raw food diet (cutting and preparing all

kinds of good fruits and veggies, etc...)!!! Deborah

ALMOND PULP

Almond pulp is what's left after making almond milk. Generally, you

would soak almonds for about 12 hours in pure water. (I soak large

amounts, rinse and drain and then put them in freezer bags in the

freezer for later use). The recipe I use for almond milk is:

1 cup soaked almonds

2 cups pure water

2 - 3 dates

1/4 tsp Celtic sea salt

Blend in Vitamix (or blender) until smooth. Strain mixture in a

sprout/milk bag. The milk squeezes out of the bag and the pulp is

what is left over.

Here's something I like to do with almond pulp - banana bread.

BANANA BREAD

Julie Disser

4 cups almond pulp

1 cup raisins (soaked in pure water for about 2 hours)

1/2 cup chopped walnuts

1/4 - 1/2 tsp Celtic sea salt

2 large ripe bananas

Add pulp, 1/2 of raisins, 2 or so oz. of the raisin soak water (more

if needed to blend), salt, and the banana to a food processor.

Process with the s-blade until somewhat smooth. Add the remainder of

raisins and the walnuts and process until still slightly lumpy.

Spread out into loaf about 1 inch high. Cut into 1 inch slices

(shaped almost like biscotti). Dehydrate at 100 degrees for about 12

hours. If still moist in the middle, this is a great banana bread

substitute. If you wish to dehydrate until completely dry and

crunchy, it is like biscotti.

I would suggest that you go to www.fitday.com sign up for a free

account, this will take you to a nutrition chart and database where

you can input the food that you want to eat in a day, the database

calculates the nutrition of the foods and gives you the calorie

count and the percentages of carbs, fats, protein. There is also a

wheel that colour codes these nutrients so that you get a very clear

picture of what your daily diet would look like.

I did exactly this a few weeks ago when I was trying to work out a

raw food diet that I could live with. I put in the food that I

wanted to eat which was basically green veg, I thought 2 cups per

meal would be good, plus I cup other veg like carrots and a few nuts

for the essential fatty acids, plus the amount of fruit that I

thought I would want to eat during the day around 2 to 3 items:

apple and pears.

I was very surprised and pleased to see that I could eat just these

foods and have an excellent balance of all the nutrients. I was

particularly surprised to see how much protein there was, at lower

calorie count there was already 30% protein.

My calorie count started at 1000 and I raised it a little higher by

adding dried fruit and ground flaxseed with I use to make dried

crackers with.

I am trying to lose excess fat, and though it has been not much

longer than a month, I am very confident that eating rawfood is the

best and healthiest way to restore health and vitality to my body.

My mental state has improved considerably, a bonus that I had not

really considered when starting out on this journey.

<<<<<<<<<<<<

Victoria Boutenko said that when we crave sugar or sweets, it's our body

telling us that we need calcium. Maybe try adding some greens to your

meals. My favorite way to get calcium is to make sesame milk. Yum!

I, too, crave bread. I found that if I make dehidrated crackers and eat

those when I get the bread craving, it helps. If stored in an air-tight

container, the crackers keep for weeks. They're nice to have on hand when I

get that munchy feeling and they're great with sliced avocados or sauces.

I have been watching less TV, probably because I'm typing up stuff on

forums so much, but also because I don't believe it much fits in with

my raw minded lifestyle. I still watch the Simpsons though, I need

some serious comic relief now and then. My arguing and conflict has

certainly died down a lot.

I believe that, it's probably all connected. A moral diet and a more

developed mind.

The rest of the raw food items, that is.
