Hello, I am wondering if anyone knows the process to making sprouted

flour. I'm making raw cookies from Roxanne Kliens book. Also, is

sprouted flour raw? Thank you.

Christina here ~

First you sprout the grain. I don't sprout longer than the length of

the seed. Once sprouted it has to be dried thoroughly before you can

grind it. I would use a dehydrator for this. Test it to see if it's

crunchy when you bite it. Once dried, you can grind it. I think

that, as long as you aren't heating it, it would be considered raw.

Any other thoughts from anyone else???

I wondered how one made flour from sprouted grains.

I know it wasn't raw, but when I was in Arizona (Nov 02) I was

staying with friends and I found in a wonderful health food store

in Phoenix, a loaf of sprouted mixedgrain bread. (It had the look abd

texture of normal bread) It was the most wonderful flavoured bread

I have EVER tasted. Cant get anything like it in UK.

I read once wheat sprout flour can be made by dehydrating the sprouts and

putting those through a flour mill. I think that flour would likely work better

with

recipes, but obviously wouldn't be as healthy.

I made some wheat sprout bread once, it was great, but it didn't keep as long

as a typical loaf, which may be why it's not on store shelves.

What I usely do is the sprout the requied grain. Then grind the sprouts in a

blender and it will make a flour like paste for you to work with. If you

type the recepe out, others may offer other ideas for you to work with.
