Guest guest
Hello, I am wondering if anyone knows the process to making sprouted flour. I'm making raw cookies from Roxanne Kliens book. Also, is sprouted flour raw? Thank you. Tyler tyler94105

I don't sprout longer than the length of the seed. Once sprouted it has to be dried thoroughly before you can grind it. I would use a dehydrator for this. Test it to see if it's crunchy when you bite it. Once dried, you can grind it. I think that, as long as you aren't heating it, it would be considered raw. Any other thoughts from anyone else??? Guest guest
I wondered how one made flour from sprouted grains. I know it wasn't raw, but when I was in Arizona (Nov 02) I was staying with friends and I found in a wonderful health food store in Phoenix, a loaf of sprouted mixedgrain bread. (It had the look abd texture of normal bread) It was the most wonderful flavoured bread I have EVER tasted. Cant get anything like it in UK. *Smiles* Peace & Harmony Chris rawfood , " Christina Moon " <moonpi@i...> wrote: > rawfood , " tyler94105 " <tyler94105> wrote: > > Hello, I am wondering if anyone knows the process to making > sprouted > > flour. Guest guest
You have to sprout grain, then put it through the meat grinder . I think that flour would likely work better with recipes, but obviously wouldn't be as healthy. I made some wheat sprout bread once, it was great, but it didn't keep as long as a typical loaf, which may be why it's not on store shelves. Guest guest
We make our bread all the time: after the meat grinder we shape it and let it dry. Alex
Guest guest
What I usely do is the sprout the requied grain. Then grind the sprouts in a blender and it will make a flour like paste for you to work with. If you type the recepe out, others may offer other ideas for you to work with.
