Kim,

Interesting point about B12.

On a raw food diet you need to be weary because a long term B deficiency can

do a lot of damage.

I have read several postings here about the low probability of getting a B12

deficiency but I have had it and so too, I have read, has David Wolfe. In

my case I developed high levels of homocystine for which the treatment was a

B12 supplement.

That and a vitamin D deficiency is common. Otherwise if you stay raw,

keeping fat intake well down, your health should go through a positive

transformation the like of which you will not believe until you live through

it.

I do not know anything about Grave's disease but here is an article that may

interest you:http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/health/2386305.stm

How fortunate you are to find a raw food site (meeting support) just

at the beginning of being raw. I've been trying to eat raw since the

early 90's but never thought to check a website about it until last

year and didn't bother to utilize it much until this year. Of

course, I've only been utilizing the internet for forums, e-mail,

etc. since early 2002.

I imagine the weight comes off pretty quick. I don't eat raw for the

need to lose weight but I do slim down quite a bit, quickly, of

course.

How are you doing now? Mine was really bad and I was hospitalized with a 200

heart rate..but I've chosen to take the Tapazole and hope to go into

remission.. How long ago was that? Do you feel better on raw food? Kim >

I was really bad too... i was hospitalized because i had severe

thyroid storms which is rare and my heart rate was constantly at 140

even when sleeping... and when i exercised or exerted it got

higher... it was really difficult... and not good..i would drop and

faint and all that in front of my daughter which was hard on her but

she did learn to dial 911..which is good...

my thyroid was killed in aug of 2003 and i do feel much better now

actually ...ive just started increasing my raw intake and notice

afternoon naps arent needed... and i dont crave pop (soda) or

anything which is nice... and i dont get as hungry as much...

Radioactive iodine was my only option and being soo young with this i

turned into a case study up here for my endo..lol... it was funny...

i used to get my blood taken every week.. now im down to every

month.. =)
