Guest guest
Jeff, I checked out your web site that you advertised on Raw Food (that's why I am answering it here)....while it's great your creating books with Vegan options. Your not putting in a whole lot of recipes in the books compared to most " cook books " and 6.50 cents for shipping fee?? Even Amazon doesn't have that gall. Feels like you are taking advantage. Thanks but no thanks... Suzanne :0) P.S Anybody who wants a great raw book that includes deserts / ice creams...RHIO's book " Hooked on Raw " rocks! Guest guest
As some of you know I have been creating a book of my gourmet vegan " ice cream " recipes. I've had a food booth at the Int'l Raw and Living Foods Festival the last two years: The Naughty Vegan!, offering gourmet raw " ice cream " treats. My book contains recipes for over 30 raw Vice Cream recipes plus some raw sauces. There are over 70 vegan recipes. Some of the non-raw recipes may be adapted. The book's official release is in April by Celestial Arts/Ten Speed Press, but I now have books in stock and am selling them online: http://www.thenaughtyvegan.com. My recipes are rich and creamy, using cashews, as well as almonds, hazelnut, and coconut. There are also some sorbet recipes. Some of the recipes are fairly simple, others (like those with fresh coconut milk) are a bit more complicated (but worth it!) I hope you enjoy the recipes. Anyone interested in having an event, such as a class or Vice Cream Social, in your area, please contact me. Thanks, Jeff jeff
Guest guest
Suzanne, The 6.50 is for priority, you can take the cheaper option from my site or go to Amazon and save a penny! Of course they are also discounting my book and if you buy enough from them they may not charge shipping. Support them over me if you wish. If you happen to be in Seattle at a raw potluck, then there's no shipping. No, I'm not trying to take advantage. As you can probably guess, Amazon has a lot more volume and keep their costs pretty low. Guest guest
I went to Jeff's site after reading his original post to the group. Although I have many raw " cookbooks " and have to be discerning when purchasing new ones (not to spend too much), I thought his book looks interesting. Since I currently only make a softserve using frozen fruit (and nothing else), I thought I would especially like to see was " ice creams " made with cashews, etc. I so was excited about this book, and didn't really think twice about the price. And no, I'm not wealthy. I just thought it was worth the investment. I would like to try some of these to help to entice family members and friends into the raw life. I don't do too much impulse buying, but I felt compelled to buy this one immediately. I'm even getting on that is autographed. I will be happy to let you know how I like the book after I get it. I wrote to Jeff right after ordering it, and got a fast response. I know he isn't trying to take advantage of anyone. I also know that creating any type of book is not only time-consuming, but also is costly. It isn't a high profit type business, especially when just starting out.
