Guest guest
Kim, Unless you have been preparing raw for a while, I think the Uncookbook by Juliano may be a bit complicated since sometimes you have to fix 2 recipes before you can prepare the main one. I know that sounds confusing, but you make one recipe because it calls for it as part of another recipe. 12 Steps to Raw is a great first raw " cookbook. " Another is Living Cuisine, another one is Warming up to Living Foods. I will have to check my books to get you the authors, if you want them, but you may be able to look them up online. I just ordered the Uncookbook myself, but I've been doing the raw thing for 9 months, and also took a raw chef's training class. I'm not saying that it's hard, but before I went raw, I looked at that book and it was a bit intimidating to me. Maybe others can recommend some uncookbooks. I have at least 12 by now. I love having many to choose from. There are lots of sites with raw recipes. Just put " raw food " into the search bar. Also you can find lots of raw links at the exercise your willpower link below. Just go to links once you are there. I know if you do this, you will start getting some energy. Just go slowly and don't do it too quickly. I was really tired the first 2 weeks when I turned 100% raw. I didn't think I did it too quickly, but I wish I had gone a bit slower. Before going 100% raw, I would eat a salad and an ear of corn and a baked potato. My salads started growing. Then I went to only one side along with my salad and within a week or two, I didn't want the side vegetables at all. Guest guest
If you don't have a spiral slicer get one. I got mine on ebay for $15. I use it all the time. This is the tool you need to make raw zucchini pasta. It is so good and extremely simple--even my cooked friends like it. Just shred the zuke in the slicer and then top however you want. Suggestions are: 1) throw a tomato in the blender and pour on top; 2) olive oil; 3) Braggs or nama shoyu. If you want to add herbs or seasonings to the dressing you can. Another super yummy and super easy favorite is fresh corn on the cob. Just shuck and " butter " with a mashed avocado. palomino03 wrote: I'm going to start on a raw food diet tomorrow. Guest guest
Here is something I just tried at the last raw potluck I went to. Finely shredded green cabbage mixed with raw pesto sauce. I don't have the recipe, but it was so yummy. Just do a search for raw pesto sauce and shredd green cabbage and mix. I don't usually like cabbage, but this was so tasty.
