Well, late yesterday (around 5pm) i decided to go RAW! I know this isn't

much of an accomplishment yet... seeing how it's not even 24 hours yet but i

am just REALLY excited about it! I had about 20 oz water with a tablespoon

raw organic apple cider vinegar when i woke up... then a bit later i did

some yoga, then had 3 mangos and chatted on the phone a bit and then

showered. I went to town and got a juice later (more because i am a bit

fearful of hunger right now)... it was yummy -- carrot, cucumber,

ginkgo(sp?) & ginger-- and bought some raw nuts (almonds and hazelnuts).

Going to soak them and make milk, just soaking half at a time though for

now... until i see how long things last me. I weighed today... 260 on the

nose. 15 minutes of light, easy yoga had my heart rate up and got me feeling

a bit wore out! So, i am REALLY out of shape but i do have to start

somewhere.

I hope to find some REALLY new-to-raw people to do this with and some

seasoned vets to guide me when i stumble.

peace

nikki

ps... sorry if you get this more than once, i mailed it to 3 lists sort of

scouting for newbies :o)

Great luck sent your way. I have been at the 80% and falling since August. I am

planning a trip in April to go stay with someone else interested in raw foods,

and I plan on making all kinds of recipes from all my books and also figure out

what my twin 2yos will eat, come home and go 100% after I get home. I am ready

but when you spend all day with kids and can't get them to eat like you, you

flop. So I am hoping a vacation with grandma and then back home will make them

open up more, but I definitely want to stick this time. I'd love your updates to

see how well you do. Keep it up, sounds great. Melissa

We're excited for you. I know how exhuberant I've been on my first

day raw, countless times in the past ten years. Those times, like

this one, is always going to be the time when I stay raw forever.

Happy trails.

Hey Nikki,

I just went shopping for raw stuff for the first time today. So I'm here with

ya! My biggest obstacle is that I need to find a place to buy raw nuts. Let me

know how you're doing.
