Guest guest
Can someone or a group of someones KINDLY answer my questions about the viability of a Vita Mix vs a blender, food processor, etc? If no one else, the moderators at least? Thanks! Shakti , " Shakti " <healingoasis> wrote: > I'm just now in the process of deciding whether or not to purchase a > Vita Mix. Guest guest
The vita mix is a blender. Some things like breakfast cereals work better in a food processor. I Got a champion juicer fist, mainly because of budget and I used an inexpensive blender and upgraded when the time was right. Just a side note, as time goes by I use these appliance less and eat more simple mono meals as do some others, so some used items may allow you to get more utensils and stay in the financial range that works for you. Nothing needed to pick up a piece of fruit and eat it. peace, Mark
Guest guest
Hi Shakti, My apologies for the delay. I will attempt to answer your question in relation to my own experiences with each. In my opinion a Vita Mix is by far a better investment over a blender the power alone make all the difference. It not only juices (and does not extract the pulp from the fruit, you get it all 100%), it purees, blends, chops, grinds and make the best smoothies and warm soups if you desire them. As with anything, you what you pay for. A Vita Mix will run you upwards to $400.00 including S & H. A food processor does just what it says. . . processes in addition to shreding, grating, slicing and choping, but above all, it processes. A good processor will run from $30.00 to $300.00 and holds anywhere from 4 cups to 11 cups of dry/wet foods. You must consider these items based on what your needs are and I would suggest starting with whatever you can afford first so as not to waste your money, then move on to bigger and better bells and whistles as you require. We've had or still have a total of 4 juicers, "Juice Man II, Vita Mix, Champion and Jack Lalaine". Make sure you do your homework on comparisons first. You can find information at these sites: www.therawworld.com www.rawfocus.com www.excaliburdehydratos.com www.championjuicer.com www.vitamix.com www.juicemanjuicer.com www.jacklalaine.com www.greenstar.com www.foodprocessors.com When you get a chance browse through 's home page's side bar. I have lots of resources posted there in "Files and Links" Hope this helps. Guest guest
Greetings Shakti. here is an idea I got from the Buetenko family that may help w/ your decision. Get some sprout bags for a few dollars and when you blend your food you can screen out most of the pulp w/the sprout bag ie; if your juice fasting or just giving the system a little breather but still physically active. The Champ (no relationship to the Champion juicer) blender does have a stronger motor, longer warranty and faster revolutions than the vitamix (see www.rawgourmet.com for reviews) which may come in handy if your making nut butters or aw icecream. peace, Mark
