Guest guest
If you have a love for live foods you must support the movement. It's just like anything else. Many of the restaurants and road warriors of the Live Food Movement have a very difficult time maintaining . Why? lack of support. Money is needed to make everything work. This is a really big problem. Buy live food books. They are not that expensive, to Living Nutrition magazine. our only magazine , Plan your vacation now Come to the International Raw Food Festival, this year , August 18th to August 22nd, Portland Oregeon. Come to The Living Now Festival , July 29th , August 1st New York Come out and support live food events. Paul Nison was recently in an auto accident his van was totaled, Thank God he is not hurt . ( his hand is cut badly) he is now renting a van. His insurance does not cover van rental. Send Paul a couple of bucks. He is a true road warrior. He lives in that van promoting Live Food. DR Doug Graham is a road warrior, David Wolfe, is a road warrior. And for those of you that believe David is making so much money your nuts. Wholesale in the nutrition world is not a big savings. There is not a big markup in this business. He would do much better selling jewelry. I say these things because I am in business. Go to a live food restaurant buy raw cookies. Instead of wining about what can I eat; buy some already prepared live foods. If your running your home, think about cost and how difficult things are today. If you love raw foods. Do something positive to support this movement. Don't just sit there wining and complaining, and analyzing everybody in the movement. Spend a buck, buy a book Support Live Foods Today. Guest guest
Greetings family. Let's not forget the raw food movement is right here. There are many health food and produce store in the DC area that have been here 10 or more years that don't get mentioned on our site or on the radio. Being a living example is the best way to encourage this transformation; attraction rather than promotion. Sometimes that means more than what we eat. Sharing our own personal experiences is a vital as others books and lectures. long before us people have been eating live. Buy books a support when it connects w/you not out of obligation. Many of us in addition to supporting this movement w/time money and enthusiasm also work in our chosen fields, support families, communities. As wonderful as living foods is it is just the tip of spiritual growth. One od our members aked a while back why there where little people of color represented in the raw food movement. If we take someone who has a book on beauty and has not one person of color in it and a web site of famous raw foodist w/no one of color in it and we listen to his story about how his housekeeper growing up was black and how spiritual we are as people and overlook who he's being we will never be fairly represented. To blindly support someone because of their associations w.\/no regard to whether his or her beliefs and ideals truly reflects yours can be dangerous. You can look at religion if you don't believe that. I've met some wonderful people from this group who have attended potlucks and spent their money and time preparing meals and setting a living example to non raw foodist of the possibilities of being raw and enjoying it. My hat' off to you. peace and continued light, Mark
Guest guest
Greetings Members: My initial response to this topic is to do just as we've done all along. . . whatever, whenever and however we can but with a little more effort. One of the main reasons for starting this group as mentioned in 's home page was to support people who are vegetarian, vegan and courious raw (live) fooders and businesses that cater to those specific needs in the Washington, D.C. Metro area but not to exclude those with the same interests who live outside of the immediate area. Support comes in a variety of ways and as individuals we will choose what works for us. Once again, I can't express enough, please share whatever information you may have with the group about striving local businesses of health and raw (live) foods. We won't know if you don't post. I try to post as I learn about them as well as for those who live outside of the area. There are members in this group from NC, NY, CA, PA, NJ, IL, MI, GA, TX, Canada and more whom I've welcomed and who have also offered support and information. Speaking of learning, on thursday, WPFW's Bush Medicine show with Dr. Sunyatta Amen, a caller enlightened me about another local business that caters to health and raw foods: " Your's Naturally " 3923 South Capitol St., SW Washington, D.C. 202-562-0041 Whether or not your choice is vegetarian, vegan or raw (live) foods, we all experience slightly higher prices on our foods and household products because we want the best. My rationale (in light of where the government is going with the healthcare industry) is, " better to pay now than later. " But even with the slightly higher prices we still require variety. In the SAD and BAD life we had many choices for food, shopping and recreation. I'm sure we'd all like to see as much variety in our new lives. That's why it is imperative to post the information so that the group will know. Good Health to You Elaine , blakenson@a... wrote: > Greetings family. Guest guest
Mark, Unfair...look who is making generalizations now. You can look at ANYTHING and find a small percentage of people that do the wrong thing. If you want "peace and continued light" as you signed off ...maybe you shouldn't make inflammatory statements. Just a thought. Suzanne <>< By the way if you would like to discuss this issue further...my email is DarinSuzyGates. If you chose to flame me, I am not going to respond. :0) In a message dated 4/1/2004 7:53:21 PM Eastern Standard Time, blakenson writes: To blindly support someone because of their associations w.\/no regard to whether his or her beliefs and ideals truly reflects yours can be dangerous. Guest guest
Very sensitive. I don't know what you mean by flame you so no comment there. I see expressing opposing views is not welcomed by you. I don't believed I made inflamitory remarks I just stated some observations. I am not against religion or any particular denomination. My message had to do w/examining the causes and the people we support, which I still stand by as a healthy practice. We my not be here just to confort the disturbed we may also be here to disturb the comftable. Here something I learned from another 12 step program; There is a practice that will also manage to keep us in everlasting ingnorance that is contenpt prior to investigation. I give no apologies for my words nor do I wish to take on your hostilities. I've chosen to not email you privately for I have nothing in my response to hide. continuing in peace, Mark
Guest guest
The cause is live foods we support this movement to move the sickness in the bodies of the universe. Starting with self and our loved ones. The message was originally posted on 12 steps. Then I thought folks on this site might find it of interest. It is my belief that if you want something to grow you must care for it. I am not in anyway suggesting that anyone follow blindly. If your eating live foods your eyes are open. We have to get the information to continue to grow. Which is what makes this site so valuable ! It would be delightful if we could stay in harmony instead of bantering back and forth. If we are gonna have peace we must educate each other without being punitive. Mark, your remark about the site without black folks was valid. I have already contacted David. To address that fact. After all we have many blacks that are live foodist and have been so for many years. Dick Gregory,Aris Latham, The High Priest K , Brother Art in North Carolina (30 years live) Mau, who prepares the food in New York at most events. The list goes on. Let's watch and see if he fixes the problem. Rhio on the other hand has a list of famous live foodist with everyone listed. Including my self , Lillian Butler (Raw Soul ) and many other folks. So lets keep informed and supportive. Lets also be kind to each other in the process , because people are sensitive. Very often it is not what you say but how you say it. We all should be working towards the same cause. Namaska , Lynda
