Guest guest
Can someone please shed some light on what rejuvalac is and the purpose of using it with a live diet? I recall hearing that after a few days of changing the eating habits, one might start to feel ill and should take rejuvalac. I am feeling headaches and a tightness in my throat. It reminds me of when I'm starting to come down with a cold. Maybe I am just stressed out from my class tonight. Or is my body perhaps going through detox. This is my third day of raw foods. Prior to this, my diet consisted of mostly meats. Thanks, Janice
Guest guest
In the first few days ,your body will eliminate poisonous toxins from your system. Some people will experience lethargy, headaches, nausea, mood swings, gas, spots and/or bad breath and a coated tongue. Do not be alarmed. This is a sign that you are on your way to healing. To can combat these symptoms by drinking a lot of water or rejuvelac, getting plenty of rest, bathing in Epson salt, and using an enema. Rejuvelac is a delicious enzyme and, friendly flora packed drink made from soaked grains. It contains vitamin B complex including B12, also vitamins K, E, lactic acid and water soluble minerals. It aids digestion and acts as protection against harmful bacteria in the intestinal tract. Spring water is best used for soaking; it allows the rejuvelac to stay active up to 2 months if the seeds are of good quality. All soaking water from seeds (not beans) and dried fruit is good to drink. If your rejuvelac has an offensive odour or bad taste, pour off the water and start again. If it recurs compost the seeds and start anew. Good rejuvelac has a somewhat lemonish and sour odour and flavour. For variety add your favourite herbs or seasonings. How to make: 1) Find a warm place to ferment; (between 60-80 F). 2) Always rinse your seeds first and use the best quality organically grown seeds. 3) Use 1 cup of grain to 2 cups of water. Wheat is more commonly used but you can also try rye, millet, oats, brown rice, barley or buckwheat. 4) Soak the seeds for 48 hours, covered. 5) Drain and refrigerate the soaked water (rejuvelac) and drink 1 or 2 cups daily, adding lemon/lime (fresh) to enhance the flavour. Can also be added to any cooking. 6) Add the same amount of water and repeat the process, using the same grains. The grain can successfully be reused about 3 times. I'm making some with brown rice because of wheat allergies in my family. I believe during a fast that we should stay away from foods that cause allergies such as wheat and all wheat related grains ,peanuts and all legumes, and soy. But that is just my humble opinion. , " janice bailey " <janice_bailey@v...> wrote: > Can someone please shed some light on what rejuvalac is and the > purpose of using it with a live diet? Guest guest
Greetings All/Janice, Aris LaTham says that rejuvalac shouldn’t be drunk. I forget his reasoning but it made sense during one of his workshops in Jamaica. If I were you I would do a lot of green juices (celery/cucumber) and if it’s too bitter for you, add an apple, or if you’re hardcore, do straight celery. Wheatgrass juice is another popular option. With talking to Aris what I came to understand is that man/woman doesn’t need the chlorophyll that green vegetables, algaes, and grasses provide. Man gets his chlorophyll similarly in the way that a plant does with its daily contact with the Sun. Except our leaves is our Hair. Fascinating to me… Anyway, green juices are great when coming off a mucus laden diet. The reason that is, is because green juices help build new cells in our bodies while slowing down the detoxification process. Also, green juices are highly alkaline, and a diet of meats, dairy, and starches, is highly acidic. So it provides balance as well. Good luck and good health. Guest guest
Hey Janice, Rejuvelac is the by-product of fermented wheatberries. It has a high amount of the "good" or "friendly" bacteria. This attricute makes it a great remedy for cleansing the colon and replenishing those lost bugs. Rejuvelac has a sour/tart taste and thus is used to make 'dairy' products becuase of this taste. It is a fermented product and so subsequently gives nuts that 'cheese' taste. Some rawfoodists advice against it though because since the grains just sit out and ferment. They may mold or get some strange fungus or get infested with a "bad" bacteria. Guest guest
Matthew, Although I do agree that we can get all the chlorophyll we need from green leafy vegetables. I do disagree on the need for Probiotics or Friendly Flora. If you have ever taken antibiotics ,hormones, birth-control pills, pain killers, or antacids, you may have destroy friendly the bacteria needed to enhance digestion and nutrient absorption, improve bowel regularity and support natural immunity. When the friendly flora dies yeast overgrows, immune system mechanisms are depleted or the normal lining of the intestinal tract is damaged, and the body can absorb yeast cells, and various toxins. As a result, bodily processes may be significantly disrupted, resulting in the development of the yeast syndrome know as Candidiasis. Fatigue, allergies, immune system malfunction, depression, chemical sensitivities, and digestive disturbances (constipation, diarrhea, bloating, abdominal pain) are just some of the symptoms. As always, you know your body. Listen to what it is telling you and do what is best for you. My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge. Hosea 4:6 Contessa and Family , " Matthew A. Guest guest
Greetings Contessa and family, If I understand your message correctly, you are saying that rejuvalac is beneficial. I’m not disagreeing with that, I’m just passing on knowledge/information of what a master in this field passed onto me about rejuvalac. Also, I didn’t say that we can get all of our chlorophyll from green leafy vegetables. And since I’m responding, I’ll share what I do advocate: Air and the Sun for one, I personally believe man can survive on air/sun and the air/sun alone, but that’s my personal belief. Secondary to Air is water, and then fruit. However, when doing mostly water and fruit when coming off a largely acidic diet, will create a whirlwind detoxification process. Hence, green juices when transitioning. I’ve also taken green superfood powders with my green juice that is usually packed with probiotics and friendly flora. Nonetheless, when the sun is adequate, then greens become unnecessary in my view and experience. While in Jamaica and Florida, my desire for salad and heavy or light greens vanish. I always want that “light” feeling, plus mentally, when I do salads, etc. my senses and brain function are not the same. However, when I first turned raw over 3 years ago, I would do 2-3 big salads with nuts, olives, avocados everyday. Now, I do 90% fruit, salads too heavy for me. Who knows, a couple of years from now I maybe closer to the ideal breatharian. Thanks for your insight and knowledge. Guest guest
I do agree w/ Aris that the harder greens like kale and collards are not ideal for our body. They do provide excellent sources of additional chlorophyll, like whweatgrass (both in the juice form which does a great deal in not only slowing down aging but reversing some things like graying and baldness. When I did the gary null protocol, involving 6 greenjuices a day a couple of people experienced new hair growth that had been bald for many years, I stopped my graying and most have turned back to black. Even though this is nat an all raw protocol, there are a lot of usefulparts to it like juicing and cardio, deep breathing and others that reair and rejuvenate the body. Gary nNull and Ann Wigmore are reported to both have been gray and Gary balding and both reversed it w/juicing (Anne did wheat grass and rejuvelac). Many of us come to this point much more depleted than others as you stated w/ antibiotics, diet, drugs, alchohol ect as was the case w/me so additional assistant may be more sucessful, like juicing or rejuvelac. This journey will give us increase and exploring all options may benefit. Remenber Noma Shoya is also made w/wheat and fermentation process (enzyme active but not raw). I'm going to start a hair protocol w/two of my friends one w/some gray and the other thinning . We'll share in six months our results. peace, Mark
