Guest guest
Greetings, Can someone explain why garlic and onions are not to be eaten raw? They are some of the few foods I eat raw on a regular basis. Monica Z. Guest guest
Raw foodist generally eat onions and garlic. In many spiritual communities it not advise at all or advised in moderation. This is especially true in Vedic traditions. It may have something to do with the increase fire which they add to the system. Women who want a more yin presence should be mindful of how much firery foods they eat. Mushrooms and night shade foods are also shunned in Vedic traditions. Guest guest
They overstimulate the body. They do have medicinal value although they act as irritants in performing their functions. I am phasinf them out and mainly using them for cleasing. As far as a substitute, there is nothing needed to replace it as long as your getting a good variety of fruits and veggies. If it helps using them in your transition, then go for it. Let your body be the judge. peace, Mark
