Kai,

I tried dehydrating in the oven several years ago. While visiting my Mom. I made a cracker that I always make an usually like. However after dehydrating in the oven the cracker did not taste the same. It tastes cooked.

Many people think the oven is fine. However the lowest temperature on the oven is above 110 degrees. It is also recommended that you leave the oven door open.

I do hope this has been helpful.

Love Lynda

Greetings kai and thanks for the info Lynda. Sundrying may be an inexpensive

option. I got a dehydrator about 6mo ago but use it only sparingly. I think Dave

and Cheryl play with it the most. I've plyes aroung w/some denser fruits like

avacodoes, bannanas, mame and nuts and seeds, some dried fruits ans occasionaly

phsyllium (if unroasted and come up w/all kinds of textures similar to what you

get in the dehydrater. Bannana orange coconut pie, truffles, brownies. It's

rewarding to experiment w/whatever tools are available even if that's just our

hands, in addition to the energy being passed on to the food it's great exercise

for the joint's and coordination

peace,

Mark
