Guest guest
Happy Birthday to Me! I am rapidly approaching my 1 year mark for the opening of my eyes to the raw life. I have not come close to mastering it yet, and still struggle with meeting my personal goals, however, I am amazed at what the last year has taught me. I want to thank Rawsoul, (which I joined back in its debut month, October), for being there to voice thoughts, gain insight on questions/doubts/struggles. I am quite certain I would not have been able to continue to venture down this path if it were not for the ongoing information/support and outlet that Rawsoul provides. I am working towards finishing out this first year on a cleansing “fast” of fruits/veggies. I hope to continue the fast for the next 3 days then follow up with the raw life for life. If you would, please send a light of prayer my way as I have struggled on and off (more struggle than raw) for the past year and would like your energy to help me over the hump I seem to be in now. Thanks again for your support and best wishes for optimal health to all of you and our planet J. BEV
Guest guest
Dearest Bev, I will repeat the words Dr.Amin used on the radio after she came back from Jamaica. I can't explain why, but those words along with this special supplement I'm taking really helped me. "Go full throttle " Enjoy the transition One love Pam
Guest guest
Hello Raw Soul/Bev I want to say Happy Birthday to you also! Regardless of what the catalyst is, it is a blessing to have something in your life where you pause and think about life directions. To choose a Raw Foods lifestyle has so many more implications about life and awareness than just choosing to eat differently. You will reach your goals, and be able to help others through your process. I have only been on this website since this spring, but the questions and comments you have raised have helped me think deeper, and shift. Thanks to you and your path! Guest guest
Happy Solar Return from Me, my wife Dr. Amen, and little Samaya our daughter. Today makes 11 months for her. I want to mention a few things that have been significant for me on my raw path over the last few weeks. Liver Cleanse: I did a liver flush 2 weeks ago using an Epsom salt recipe and got a few HUNDRED stones out. I’ve read there could be THOUSANDS of them in your liver. So I plan to do it again today. It is recommended that you do them in 2 week intervals until you successfully remove them all. For all of those interested, I can post the recipe, there is also a lot of information on www.curezone.com. From my understanding, it’s how we remove the bad fats from our system that has accumulated mainly in the liver. Being a raw food vegan may take care of the colon over a period of time, but not the liver. Another item worth mentioning is lately I was challenged with congestion, mucus, especially at night. My diet at the time was about 40% sweet fruits, 10% greens, 30% fatty/non-sweet fruits, and the rest dehydrated foods. I took a hard look at what I was eating, and realized #1, the amount of sweet fruits I was eating, even though organic was too much, considering the fruit today is not the fruit that was available 20 or 50 years ago when comparing the mineral and nutritional value. I read Dr. Cousen’s new book, Rainbow Green Live Food Cuisine and realized that a lot of the fruits that I was eating are considered high glycemic. Those high sugars even coming from organic whole fruits were feeding into what he calls “mycosis”, which essentially is blood being in an unhealthy state where fungus, yeast, and mold are present. In order to reverse the condition, he recommends his “Phase I” diet for at least 3 months, where you only take in greens, non-sweet fruits, sea veggies, fatty fruits, nuts/seeds, lemon/lime, oils, stevia, and green powders. What is to be avoided is all sweet fruits, honey, maple syrup, mushrooms, fermented foods, grains even sprouted, Nama Shoyu, and high glycemic veggies (roots), basically all the joys of a raw foodist J. Well, I can say it has worked for me. I’ve been doing 2 celery juices per day. Sometimes I add organic cucumber, sometimes not. I usually add a superfood green powder. The one I have now is “You’re My Everything” which has Spirulina, MSM, cayenne pepper, and a mineral complex. It’s pretty good. I also like Nature’s First Food, which is a little pricey, but if raw soulers are interested I can pass on the wholesale savings. I plan on ordering some today. I’ve also been doing soaked goji’s, which are considered low glycemic. When they are dried they are very sweet, but when you soak them, the berry gets very plump and is not sweet at all. The “juice” from the water used to soak the berry is also very good. What has been interesting for me is that I do feel really good when doing green juices and very little sweets. But I still believe that fruit is the ideal food for man. However, not unless the fruit is in its wild original state, which if its coming from the health food store, its not and probably a hybrid, it should probably be avoided or limited for attaining supreme health and higher consciousness. Hope my banter helps J. Light, Matt Beverly Coose [mermaidcharter] Tuesday, June 29, 2004 11:10 PM happy birthday Happy Birthday to Me! Guest guest
Thanks Pam, Matt and Ashtarra ~ and yes, all of the “banter” helps tremendously! J I, too am curious to find out more about the liver cleanser….I will be going to www.curezone.com after this e-mail and would enjoy reading the recipe with Epsom salt if you post it. I haven’t read anything about liver cleansers yet, am a little apprehensive, but very curious to learn more. If anyone else out there has input on liver cleansers I’d be interested in hearing. Thanks for sharing your success with the past weeks. Pam, I liked the “go full throttle” it actually rang in my head around 9:30 tonight and sparked a chain of thoughts that made me stop what I was doing to come up and respond to all of you who sent words of encouragement….so thanks! I thought I’d share another quote I read today. I have altered it to meet my needs. The original was on the wall of a middle school wrestling room and said, “the will to be a champion is nothing without the will to prepare”. That hit me hard and I took it for me as, ”the will to achiever “superior health and higher consciousness” is nothing with out the will to change or sacrifice for it”. I hope that will ring for someone as it did for me. Ashtarra, the gain goes both ways, I often feel enriched after reading your input as well. And that goes for so many of you out there…Mark and Elaine, espically! Thanks again to all. Hopefully my next “birthday” I’ll be celebrating a year raw!!! I’m off to a good start! BEV Matthew A.
