Guest guest
Greetings to: Zatitie, all of the members and their family and friends who attended and helped to make our "Brunch Luck" a success and thank you for the beautiful E-Card. It so much described us and what we do in our element. In spite of the many other activities and events that were scheduled on the same day which had many of you in various places on Saturday, we appreciate you all coming to our home to converse, share, meet and greet, have fun and taste some very good food. (Recipes and photos are forthcoming). I believe the biggest joy was seeing the kids having so much fun. Ron and I have lived here for 11+ years and never realized that we had a mystical place in our yard that the kids managed to find. I mean, you had to literally pull them out of that corner pocket! It was our pleasure to be able to have all of you over and see that you became S o o o relaxed. So what if the last guest left at 8:30pm? It simply means that for those who couldn't make it. . . you missed out on a really good time. I trust that some of you first-timers can now plan to come out again after having seen how easy it is to just be creative in your food prep and surprise yourself, even, watching people come back for more until it's gone. Now Listen Up! will be 1 year old on the 23rd of October. I need your thoughts, suggestions and ideas for improvement and to plan a celebration. I'd like to hear from all 172 members please. . . Guest guest
Hi Elaine, I thoroughly enjoyed myself at your house. It was great to meet you and your husband and partake in new and exciting dishes. I can't wait for you to send the recipes so that I can re-create my favorite dishes. As for the celebration, It would be great, if we could find a large enough space and just have another pot-luck festivity... Workshops and/or other activities could be planned also. I'll keep brainstorming though!! All the best, Heather Gibbs , " E. Guest guest
Elaine, I'd love to see a big event with someone like Doug Graham and Roz and then a pot-luck to follow where we could all socialize. Although it's a bit past the Oct. anniversary date, I do know that Doug and Roz will be in the area in early Dec. I've already invited them to stay at my house when they pass through, so if someone wanted to organize and promote them speaking, maybe we could pull something together??? Nancy E. Guest guest
T he email I got from Doug used the words "we" and "our" in it, so I am assuming she will be with him in Dec. I didn't know she was not in the states. Was Immigration not letting her back or something? Guest guest
Yes, late spring she was coming in from Canada and hit some sort of roadblock and was not able to return to the states again. She was living in her England home for a while and hoping to hear late summer about being able to come back in. She was disappointed to say the least as she had commitments in the states for workshops/classes etc. I was hoping she made it back in, but hadn’t heard….last I spoke with her was in May, I think. Keep me posted if you hear anything.
