LaLanne's words to live by

Eat fresh fruits and vegetables, whole grains, lean meat and fish. No white flour, white sugar. Avoid processed foods. No snacking. (Related item:Jack LaLanne, still a muscle man)

If man made it, avoid it!

Get off your seat, on your feet!

Exercise hard for 30 minutes a day, three or four times a week.

Work at living, not dying.

Have goals and challenges that make you get up in the morning.

Jack's day:

•Two-hour workout, 6-8 a.m.

•Breakfast: Power drink with 50 grams of soy protein. Whole-grain cereal.

•Lunch: Fruit, four egg whites, soup (not cream-based).

•Dinner: Ten raw vegetables, salad, soup (not cream-based), whole-wheat pita, 3-4 ounces of fish. One or two glasses of wine.

His life is not the SAD either, which is a

large part of his “luck”.

I think we can take from him the importance of MODERATION, regardless of

the quality, and the benefits of excluding white

flour/sugar/refined/processed/packaged foods. I enjoyed the quotes sent out, thanks so

much!

Bev,

I think that the amount of exercise that he does accounts for his body working like a find tuned fiddle. Not many people work out like Jack. As a kid I remember seeing articles in the paper. with him swimming in the Hudson River at freezing temperatures. Or pulling a tug Boat with his teeth!

He has been amazing for so long. However UN sad he remains. We must understand their is no room for dead flesh. I have this same problem with older family members that just want a little fish. What vegetable is fish? Incidentally their all in good shape these older folks. I believe they would be in better condition if they would eliminate the flesh. But Bev, maybe the mind has it under control like you stated earlier. Since their doing so well for their years young.

Love and Blessings , Lynda

I was interrupted before I finished my

thought…..consistency and belief are also

fundamentals in his success.

Hello : I once had an in-law who had a great attitude, who

laughed alot, who smoked, drank, and talked about her perfect health

with no effort. This all worked until she reached 75 or so, and the

complications were so unpleasant. Who knows what we can be and live to

if we combine positive thoughts of renewal, physical exercise, prayer

and real healthy eating!! Ashtarra
