Greetings Family,

Today on the Bush Medicine radio program I will be speaking with

Barbara Stitt whose innovative dietary program was profiled in the Oscar Nominated

movie ‘Supersize Me’. Her company proposed and underwrote the

school lunch program that helped turn around the behavioral problems (and Ritalin.

Prozac intake) of an entire ‘troubled’ school and made it the

school of choice for their region. Since then many schools have been added and

the results are astonishing.

Here is a link to info:

http://supersizeme.com/home.aspx?page=links

Time: 3-4pm

Station: WPFW fm 89.3 (or www.wpfw.org

if you are not in range)

Call in #: 202-588-0893

I am particularly interested in hearing from parents and

extended family who are ready and willing to get their children feeling and behaving

better AND are ready to take this info to their child’s school – or

prepare different lunches. Ritalin, Prozac, “special challenges classes”,

etc. are not the only options for our children. If we don’t do something

to counter this and advocate for our children, who will? Let’s get it

rolling.

Sunyatta, I forgot! I would love to see Prince William County develop some consciousness about the food they give to our children. One of the lunch ladies at the school I worked at last year, died suddenly- she was obese and unhappy as many of the ladies who work in the school cafeterias appear to be.

You had mentioned that if you knew of a school system in NEED of this info to contact you.

Thanks again

one love

Dang! I just got this e-mail! Wish I had known about

the show because I would have been all over it! I've

had some adhd-type problems with my 8 yr. old and

would have lovedthe info. Is there any way to get a

tape or a transcript of the show?

When my oldest went to school (we homeschool now) I

was absolutely appalled at how school lunches devolved

from when even I was a kid trying to digest them.

Then I read Fast Food Nation and I just wanted to cry.

How can they let our children eatlike this and call it

nutrition??? It is criminal to use our children's

bodies to dump off foodstuffs that are unfit for human

consumption. GRRRRR.

OK, better stop. I'm glad to hear that this aspect of

the system is being challenged. I'll definitely be

reading Ms. Stitt's book.
