Guest guest
FYI http://www.metromkt.net/viable/1almond.shtmlIf you find commercial soap products too drying foryour face, check in your local health food store forfacial soaps and cleansers derived from Almond (Prunusamygdalus). The kernel from the Almond plant providesus with one of the best face scrubs Mother Nature hasto offer. It is also an excellent emollient. A recent study suggests that Almond oil may also helpprevent heart disease. At the Health Research andStudies Center in Los Altos, California, Almond oilwas shown to lower serum cholesterol levels in peoplewho consumed it in place of saturated fat. Accordingto this study, Almond oil was a more potentcholesterol-reducing agent than olive oil!Possible benefits are cleansers made from Almond helpto remove excess oil and dirt from skin. Almond butterand oil can moisturize and soften skin, and Almond oilshows promise as a potent cholesterol reducer.Almond can also be used externally as either Almondmeal or oil. A handful of Almond meal makes a greatface scrub, and applying the Almond oil directly intorough areas helps moisturize and soften skin, particularly hands and heels of feet. Guest guest
The BITTER almond is a good source of vitamin B17, which is very hard to get unless you go out of your way to do so. It's also called amygdalin, and in concentrated forms, as an injection, is called laetrile. Laetrile, however, was derived from apricot kernals, which is probably THE BEST source of B17. We don't hear much about laetrile anymore, but the laetrile movement, promoting a natural anti-cancer treatment, used to be HUGE in the '70s. I personally had a friend who was given 5 months to live, started taking laetrile injections, and I ran into him 20 years later and he was very healthy! I would be happy to tell you more, including the biochemistry of how it works, if anyone is interested. Another source of B17 is millet. Much Love, Always, Helena"E.
