Guest guest
I think that we can all agree that there are few things worse than teeth pain or foot pain! I saw the post about dental care and wanted to share this info with you. Healthy gums and teeth are crucial to our overall health. Infections in the mouth are carried into the bloodstream and weaken overall immunity. Going to the dentist twice a year is not enough to keep your gums and teeth healthy. It's what happens on the other 363 days - effective at home care with products that work is key to a healthy mouth and may be the best kind of dental insurance. Aside from a good quality toothpaste, there are other things to consider for strong gums and teeth. In terms of nutrition, easily absorbed minerals and usable organic calcium help build up the teeth. Lynda mentioned Wheatgrass juice, which is an excellent source of easily absorbed minerals. If you are looking for supplements, it’s important to find ones that are in forms that are small enough for you to assimilate so the body can utilize them, otherwise, you are wasting time, energy and resources. Here are a few tips that family and friends have shared with me on daily preventative dental care: Floss! Twice a day is ideal. If you only floss once a day, floss before bed. Glide dental tape is a good choice because it doesn’t cut into the gums. My very honest and extremely gifted dentist told me that having dental cleanings twice a year is overkill, especially if you are diligent with your at home care. She said that every time you have a cleaning, you lose enamel. Healthy gums are smooth and firm to the touch. Puffy gums that bleed when you brush are signs that there may infection setting in or that harden plaque is digging into the gums. Put a drop of an edible essential oil like Clove or Wintergreen on your finger and apply it to your floss, just before you begin flossing. This way the oil can get under the gums and work on any infections that may be there. You can also put a drop of oil on top of your toothpaste before brushing. A tongue cleaner can remove bacteria that hide out on your tongue and travel to the base of the gums, causing infections and odor. You'll see why you need it the very first time you see what comes off the tongue. The ones made of stainless steel are the most hygienic and very effective. Use an electric toothbrush like Sonicare, Braun or OralB. If you use a non-electric toothbrush, use a soft bristle brush. Hard bristles will wear down the enamel on your teeth. Dental irrigators can help prevent infections and cavities from forming, concentrate at the gum line where bacteria forms under the tooth, eating away at the base of the tooth and gum tissue. Try to get one that has a well cover. Brush your teeth and gums after meals or sticky treats. If you can’t brush afterwards, at least rinse with plain water. My family and I have used a natural toothpaste called Dentarome Plus for years with great success - no more painful or bleeding gums. Dentarome is non-abrasive and contains organic food grade essential oils, has no sugar, or artificial sugar, no toxic chemicals, fluoride or potentially harmful ingredients, so it doesn't need to carry the poison control warning that commercial brands do. I also used an edible essential oil blend to pull my receding gums down. Family and friends have used the toothpaste and oils to close the pockets in the gums, avoided surgery, and saved themselves lots of pain, and saved many thousands of dollars. I sell the toothpaste and organic oils for the gums and teeth, I would be happy to send more info to anyone who wants to know more. As you can tell, I am really passionate on this subject! I have brief articles to share on the links between diabetes, heart problems, chronic illness and poor dental care if anyone wants to share this info with family and friends. Guest guest
I too would be interested the tooth paste and oils. Would you give some prices and a meeting place? Aren't we supposed to do this off line? Incidentally I know lots of you folks have your favorite dentist. However Costa Rica has excellent dental care and it is very inexpensive. Consider Costa Rica for a vacation and a chance to get your smile in order. Trust me it is a very good deal with out tricks and high prices Lynda
Guest guest
Kimberly, This is great information. I just returned from my first dental visit with a holistic dentist. I had a debragment and a filling done. This was a truly amazing and thorough dental visit. I feel like I've been short-changed all these years. Dr. Terry Victor told me to do all of the things you suggested. I would love to see the articles that link poor dental care to poor health. Monica Z. Guest guest
Hi Pam, It's very possible that you can reverse the gum issues with a routine of the toothpaste and the oils, this will hopefully save you lots of pain and lots of money. I was able to pull down my receding gums, which my very thorough and competent hygienist told me was not possible! Can you give me a little more info on what's happening with your gums so that I can get a better idea of which oils will serve you better? In the meantime, here's more info on the toothpaste and oils: The toothpaste is called Dentarome and it's truly exceptional. I even use it as a deodorant! To give you an idea of its effectiveness, I have dentists who sell the Dentarome and our mouthwash to their patients. Dentarome Toothpaste - $7.00 US for 4.1 ounces Dentarome contains an exclusive formula of natural plant-derived ingredients, such as vegetable glycerine and ionic trace minerals. Instead of the abrasive silica found in most toothpastes, Dentarome uses gentle, odor-absorbing baking soda. It also contains the essential oil of peppermint, which leaves the mouth fresh, fragrant, and clean, without a chemical aftertaste. The added therapeutic-grade essential oils are uniquely antiseptic. It is preferred by children and those with sensitive gums. Ingredients - Baking soda, deionized water, vegetable glycerine, xanthan gum, ionic trace minerals, steviocide (Stevia rebaudiana), and the essential oils of wintergreen (Gaultheria procumbens), peppermint (Mentha piperita), and the blend Thieves [clove (Syzygium aromaticum), lemon (Citrus limon), cinnamon (Cinnamomum verum), eucalyptus (Eucalyptus radiata), and rosemary (Rosmarinus officinalis)]. ADDITIONAL TOOTHPASTES: All are edible, safe and contain no sugar. Dentarome Plus - $7.00, 4 ounces. Contains Thieves oil blend - a natural anti-biotic Dentarome Ultra - $8.00, 4 ounces. Whitens teeth without bleaching Dentarome - $7.00, 4 ounces. Our original formula (Also works extremely well as a deodorant) Kidscents Toothpaste, Bubblegum flavor - $7.00, 4 ounces. No sugar to excite and agitate the kids FIRST thing in the morning! FYI: Did you know that there is a Poison Control warning on the back of your toothpaste? All of our Young Living Essential Oils toothpastes have university research to back their effectiveness and are not deadly for you to swallow. Many unsafe chemical additives in toothpaste and mouthwash may pass directly into the blood stream, even if you never swallow. This is because they are absorbed through the mucosal lining inside the mouth, which has an absorption efficiency of over 90 percent, according to the Physician's Desk Reference Handbook. Most toothpastes are loaded with potentially dangerous chemicals, such as fluoride, sodium monofluorophosphate, sodium saccharin, sodium lauryl sulfate, pentasodium triphosphate, titanium dioxide, FD & C Blue #1, Yellow #5, and Yellow #10. Some of these additives, like sodium lauryl sulfate (a known skin irritant), have long been suspected of health-damaging effects. The FDA acknowledges that fluoride, when swallowed, poses significant risks to children. The FDA requires all fluoride toothpastes to carry a poison warning label. THERAPEUTIC ORGANIC and EDIBLE ESSENTIAL OILS Each 15ML bottle contains 250-300 drops depending on the thickness of oil. Thieves - $32.00, 15ML. Overall infection fighter. Great for infected gums, bleeding gums, and cavities. This one's hot - should use the V-6 mixing oil to put on top of it. Put a drop on the toothbrush or on top of the Dentarome. Can also mix with the V-6 oil and put on a cotton gauze and insert the gauze in between teeth and cheek to help pull out infection. Can use Thieves for sore throats and on the bottoms of the feet to build up the immunity. Melrose - $19.00, 15ML. This is what I used to correct my receding gum line. You can brush with it and/or put a drop on Dentarome before brushing. Wintergreen - $ 10.00, 15ML. For bone infection within the gum. Brush with and rub on gums afterwards. Lavender - $22.00, 15ML. Great for healthy gums, all skin issues. Yes, it's edible too! Myrrh - $ 55.00, 15ML. Can be used for deep gum infections, down to the bone. Good to combine with Wintergreen. Great to use regularly for pink, tight gums. ** Myrrh is also available in smaller size (about 110 drops) in a kit with pure edible Frankincense. ***Please remember that we are talking about Young Living therapeutic-grade oils for these dental applications. Other essential oils are not safe to ingest. MOUTHWASH Fresh Essence Mouthwash - $8.00, 8 ounces Formulation of essential oils will give you even fresher breath with its powerful germ-killing action. The unique liposome technology (using soy-derived lecithin) binds the essential oils to the mucous membrane inside the mouth. Ingredients: Essential oil of peppermint (Mentha piperita), the blend of Thieves [clove (Syzgium aromaticum), lemon (Citrus limon), cinnamon (Cinnamonum verum), eucalyptus (Eucalyptus radiata), and rosemary (rosmarinus offcinalis)], spearmint and vetiver essential oils, deionized water, peppermint floral water, melissa floral water, and colloidal silver.
