Guest guest
Greetings from Fatimah in Egypt. I am looking for a raw falaafel recipe and also a raw eggplant recipe. These two foods are very plentiful here. I need a raw subsitute ASAP. Thanks,
Guest guest
Here's a raw falafel recipe from the Sad to Raw website: Raw Falafel 1 1/2 c. sprouted chickpeas (garbanzo beans) 1 c. sprouted sunflower seeds 1 Tbl minced garlic 2 c. fresh cilantro, chopped 1/2 c. tahini 1/4 c. Nama Shoyu or 1 Tbl Celtic sea salt 2 Tbl fresh parsley 1/2 c. chopped onion 1/2 c. fresh-squeezed lemon juice 1/2 c. olive oil 1 1/2 tsp. Curry Chutney 1 1/2 tsp. cumin 2 tsp sun-dried lime Combine all ingredients in a blender and blend well. Form blended mixture into 1-inch by 3-inch elongated patties, place them on an oiled mesh dehydrator sheet, and dehydrate for 8 hours at 90 degrees. When the falafel patties are done they have a nice crust on the outside and are moist on the inside. - Juliano's Raw: The Uncook Book

Guest guest
I have two questions: One, I accidently clicked the "spam" button on one of the emails from the group. From Gail. It said that it reported it as spam. Will this affect my mail from the group? Or will it just affect the email from her? How can I fix this situation? Two, has anyone in this group lost lots of weight? I have lost some and I am starting to look funny. Eating all raw, do you eventually get your elasticity back in your skin. Or is the flabby skin thing unavoidable? pnparlette wrote: Are you SURE you mean One TABLESPOON of salt! That like major toxic! Guest guest
resistance execises will help tone the muscles and tighten the skin, yoga also is helpful. Using the rebounder helps the cells throughout the body expand and gives a more toned full look to the body (morenoticeable for those looking to keep weight or mass on). I was slim when I started raw although I'm still about 15 lbs lighter. The exercise will also oxegenate the blood which speeds up repairing the cells and tissue. blessings, Mark Fatimah Bint Rasheed <salafyforlife Sent: Thu, 30 Jun 2005 08:03:23 -0700 (PDT)RE: Re: In search of a recipe I have two questions: One, I accidently clicked the "spam" button on one of the emails from the group. Guest guest
I have lost over 100 pounds . However I was a very big girl. Today I must still lose more weight. I believe that the flab has to do with age. However exercise is a key part of getting rid of flab. I use the re bounder for my cellular issues . I am a former diabetic..I have found yoga very helpful for feeling fit. But I believe you will need an aerobic exercise to really tighten up. Talk to a trainer for professional advise. Guest guest
Sorry about the not-so-ASAP respose. I've been on vacation, and I am JUST getting caught up on e-mail! I've found that you can modify just about any cooked/roasted eggplant recipe with chopped, salted eggplant. The ratio of eggplant to salt is about 2 large eggplants to 1 teaspoon of sea salt. Peel and chop your eggplant (the finer you chop it, the sooner it will be ready) and toos with salt. Place salted eggplant in a colander either in a sink or over a bowl to catch the bitter juices that will exude. After a 1/2 hour or so, (depending on how fresh the eggplant is and how finely chopped), squeeze the excess juices out. You can rinse the eggplant or not according to your taste. Then use in whatever recipe you need it for. Here are a coluple to try: Lebanese eggplant salad 2 large eggplants, prepard as above and mashed or processed to a rough consistency 1 tomato, chopped 1 sweet pepper, any color, chopped 1 hot, green or red chili pepper, fiely minced 1 small onion or 4 green onions, chopped * mix all these together in a bowl. Dress with 2-3 T lemon juice (the original recipe calls for pomegranate molasses, which doesn't seem too raw.) 2 T olive oilsalt & pepper to taste 1 large garlic clove, crushed *garnish with: 10 black, pitted olives( Ilike more!) 1 T chopped mint leaves 1 T chopped parsley Baba Gannouj 2 eggplants, prepared as above 1-2 cloves garlic 1/2 c. lemon juice 1-2 T tahini 1/2 t salt ( if you rinse the eggplant. If not, you may not need it. ) 2T chopped parsley 9opt.) 1-2T olive oil * blend in a food processor to desired consistency. I like to chop the garlic alone first to ensure even distribution. An optional garnish is 1/4 c. sour pomegranate seeds, or that parsley from the recipe if it didn't get processed in. At the risk of being redundant, I also have a falafel recipe I've adapted from Rose Lee Calabro 1 1/2 c. chickpeas, soaked and sprouted for 8 hrs. 1 c. sunflower seeds, soaked 8 hrs. and rinsed *process until smooth mix in by hand: 1 med onion, finely chopped 2 cloves garlic, pressed 1/4 c. finely chopped pArsley 2 T lemon juice 1/4 c. olive oil 2T ground coriander 3T ground cumin ground cayenne to taste 1 t sea salt *scoop out rounded tablespoonfuls, form into patties and dehydrate 10-12 hrs. at 105 degrees F Dip into sauce made with: 2T tahini 2 cloves pressed garlic 2 T lemon juice water to prferred consistency(i use about 1/2 c.) salt to taste Hope that helps! Blessings, ELise --- salafyforlife <salafyforlife wrote: > Greetings from Fatimah in Egypt. I am looking for a > raw falaafel > recipe and also a raw eggplant recipe.
