Guest guest
You have been sent this message from arielefoster as a courtesy of washingtonpost.com Personal Message: Blessings, all! I am sending along a Post article related to the work I do around increasing fresh food access in low-income communities (here in the district's own Anacostia). On this listserv we are blessed to have the knowledge and means to choose to eat raw as we wish. Not everyone does (obviously!). Just a reminder about the immense work still left to do!!! (also there's a picture of me and some quotes in the article, but I won't forget you even though I'm famous now - L.O.L.) See also the related article on farmers' markets, which is actually more my field at the moment. Please contact me if you are interested in volunteering at all. We accept volunteers at our farm -- mostly weekdays, some Saturdays, and the farmers; markets. Also, I love brainstorming. Hope to hear from you soon. Peace! Fist-size deep-purple eggplants peek from under leaves, and lumpy pods of black-eyed peas look ready to burst. Guest guest
This is a great article, Ariele, and kudos to you for the work you are doing to bring fresh produce into the inner city community. I used to live in Brooklyn, NY and if I wanted really good produce I usually got it in Manhattan where I worked because it was so scarce in my neighborhood. To be fair, though, there were some community gardens but they were mainly for those who planted there. /gfj -- _________Sign-up for Ads Free at Mail.com http://www.mail.com/?sr=signup
