Guest guest
Caroline; Another point I maybe should add about the coconut water once it has been drained from the whole coconut, it can be used as the liquid in baking or other cooking. If you like the flavour of coconut, the water can be used instead of milk or juice in muffins, cakes, whatever. I enjoy just drinking it too. :-) Deborah Deborah, Yes I did get your second post and really appreciated it as I had wondered about the water inside. Also your instructions on picking one good coconut were very handy as I have never picked one before. It is amazing the new experiences I have had since discovering dietary intervention. Thanks again Caroline
Guest guest
Khepere, Do you know what is in coconut oil? What about eating the coconut or drinking the water to help with deficiencies? Wouldn't the oil go rancid really fast since it's so fatty? Thanks. Guest guest
The Coconut is the king of all foods. In my opinion, if you don’t have coconut in your life that is like a baby not having breast milk. Just like a baby can solely survive and thrive on breast milk, we can solely survive and thrive on the coconut as adults, the breast of the earth. Coconut oil is extracted from coconut milk from a centrifuge process. The oil is extremely stable to light and heat, not like other oils. And the best part that all of the research and literature mentions is the medium chain fatty acids that allow for better absorption of nutrients such as calcium, magnesium, fat soluble vitamins and all B vitamins. Medium chain fatty acids are the primary component in human breast milk. When a baby is not developing from a breast fed mother, then it is very likely that the mother’s milk is lacking the medium chain fatty acids and the mother should supplement with coconut oil, milk, and/or meat. Get Bruce Fife’s book, Coconut Cures, the message is clear. One of the fascinating things that Fife points out is that the cause of most ailments humans fall victim to is caused by vegetable, canola, or soy oils and also a lack of coconut oil. What I’ve done now is that anytime anything I eat calls for olive oil I now use coconut oil in its place. Guest guest
Hi Paul, If you will go to 's homepage and click on " Links " then " Resources " you will find a section dedicated to research and documentation on oils, fats and particularly Virgin Coconut Oil. I researched all of this information a few years ago and it is quite interesting. I would advise you to bookmark the Weston Price Foundation site, read evertything and visit it often. There is a seminar annually that's held in various cities. On a personal note, my househould abandonded the " Eat Right for Your Blood Type " theory a few years ago. There were just too many food items disputed and we were deprived of too many food items that we enjoyed and found were not harmful to us, long or short term. Noted: You can't go wrong with Virgin Coconut Oil. Elaine , lenalda@a... wrote: > Hi, I like the information that you gave on coconut oil. Guest guest
Dr. Michael Greger recently published his review of nutritional literature for 2009. In it, he reports on the most up-to-date studies on coconut. Please pardon me for being the bearer of bad news... as understand it, according to him, coconut oil (which is highly saturated) actually has the same cholesterolemic effect of the saturated fat in animal products. However, there is good news too: defatted coconut actually has a beneficial effect on the heart while WHOLE coconut is essentially neutral. So, it seems there may be protective substances in the fibre or other aspects of whole coconut that counteract the effects of the saturated fat. Deborah but I've been using expeller-pressed coconut oil ** I will have to find this. I hate coconut oil flavor. I see it in several recipes, but can't stand the taste. I know coconut is excellent for the heart also. But it makes me almost sick. thanks for the tip. maryruth
Guest guest
Not sure. Usually when I feel like that, it means I need to stay away from that food. It took a couple of days to feel normal again. Either that or, since it's antifungal, maybe your reaction was a detox response. Carolyn
