Guest guest
From Lynetta: Greetings Brothers & Sisters, 450 survivors are on the way to the DC Armory. They are to arrive sometime between Sunday night and Monday night. The red cross is taking the names of those who would like to volunteer if you are interested the number is (202) 303-4525. The only problem is you have to wait for them to call you back when there is so much to be done. Many are not waiting and plan to be at the armory when they arrive offering all they can everything from food to under clothes and toiletry's. The red cross is asking for cash donations but I am sure so much more is needed. Many plan to take families and college students into their home. I think that it would be good to go and greet the survivors on arrival to let them know we care and we are here for them. Does anyone else have any plans, ideas or suggestions? Let's come together and provide strength for our brothers and sisters in their time of need. One Love Lynetta Here are the details: Greater Care of Washington DC is working with the Red Cross to help with the disaster in the Gulf States. They called; they are desperate for help on Sunday 4rd (TODAY)!!! The DC Armory is going to be housing 400 SUVIVORS from New Orleans. The need helping putting together cots, getting food and other supplies ready for their arrival tomorrow evening. I know many are you are feeling frustrated and wanting to help with this devastating crisis. We are asking you to take time out of your schedule and lend your talents and help these people. Here is the information: Location: DC Armory next to RFK Stadium Meeting Spot: Stadium Metro (Blue and Orange) Time:Beginning @ 1:30 pm til ? DATE: TODAY !!!! Sept 4th SUNDAY!!! Please bring a picture ID, your own food and water and your hearts as you will be putting in 6 to 8 hours. Guest guest
Hello : I am seldom in touch now as I was during last summer, but I read the e-mail a couple of times a week. My eyes teared about your plans for people who are coming to DC...I have been awakening in the early morning, doing meditations and prayers about the situation, felt inspired to do more...I am going to write the mayor of this small city and see if it can be arranged for people to come here.....Blessings to everyone...Ashtarra Namaska7 Sep 5, 2005 10:39 AM Re: Survivors arrival at the DC Armory!
