Guest guest
Hello, everyone I've felt so cold lately. I've been bundling up in sweaters and coats. I've been trying to stay raw, but the food just feels too cold, even if it has been at room temp. Salads almost make my teeth hurt. I backslid and ate some cooked food for some warmth, but then felt dull and listless. Today I am juice fasting and my energy is back, but I'm freezing! I need some advice, quick! Thanksgiving with my family is coming up, and I don't want to have my resolve melting as I'm surrounded by cooked food, KWIM? How do you all stay warm? Guest guest
Hi Elise, You may already know that as long as you don't heat foods over 115 degrees they are still techincally raw. Make soups and warm dishes like mock spanish rice that you can heat up just enough to get them warm. Right now is the time to make breads and cookies in the dehydrator. Warm foods keep Kapha dosha from getting imbalanced this time of year so eat foods that have been placed in a dehyrator or a skillet set below 115 degrees. Guest guest
Drink a cup of hot herbal tea before you eat. It will warm you up and you won't crave hot food. In learned this trick while living in a raw foods community in Miami. The only thing that the stove was allowed to be used for was to boil water for tea. Guest guest
Thanks for reminding me of this! All summer long and well into the fall I had been eating hardly any grains and was feeling great. Thought I didn't need them anymore. I've been having some grains every day now, and it feels very good. I also went and warmed up the dandelion salad that I've been trying so hard toeat in my dehydrator, and it totally hit the spot! It had lots of garlic in it and gave off this lovely warmed garlic smell and taste that I've been wanting so badly. I was told once that Kapha is my dominant dosha. I know very litlle about Aruyveda. I was wondering if you might be able to share more about that. I'm also interested in doing some reflexology. Migth you be able to contact me off-list about these things? Blessings, Elise
