Guest guest
Hi Margie, It's your buddy Michael. I just posted a delicious recipe called the RAW Rainbow Salad. I made it up a couple of days ago and it is deeelicious. There are so many ways to be creative. Last night, I had a craving for something sweet, so I sliced up some bananas into raw almond butter, with raisins and raw pepitas... The recipe for energy guacamole in the Juliano Raw Foods book is great too! I like to eat that with purple cabbage " chips " . Just take the purple cabbage, cut it in half and peel off the sides to create chip like pieces. Dip into the guac and enjoy! For variety, you can try thinly sliced sweet potato, zucchini or any veggie that is firm. Try to avoid too much of the starchy variety as they increase glucose production in the body. Those are potato, sweet potato, carrots, and beets. I think all sugary juices and starchy juices should be taken in moderation. Use orange, carrot, and beet juices sparsely, and favor other less sugary juices when you mix. Greens are by far the best for juices, and their flavor can be softened by small amounts of carrot, cuke, celery, or beet. All of us tend toward a diabetic type of metabolism, so sugar should always be avoided whenever possible. peace. Michael

Guest guest
I'm struggling. I've been eating sunflower seeds 2day, and almond butter, but they are roasted. I want 2 drink some juice from home, but it's pasteurized, which sounds " cooked " 2 me. Yesterday I just did not eat anything @ all. It's been kind of taxing 4 me 2 figure out just what is, and is not " dead " .
Guest guest
The only living food is fresh raw fruits and vegetables, raw (unroasted) nuts and seeds. Juices must be freshly juiced (using a juicer or making a smoothie in a blender) without any processing (pasteurization, homogenized, etc.) Eat those things and LOTS of pure water. Guest guest
The word 'struggle' is choking in itself. I have found that during this time that I must watch my words. You already know thoughts precede the word, the word precedes the action. I have been very controlling of my thoughts now as well because I know that as soon as I think about the old stuff (cooked food), then I could easily fall from the grace that is my own. I chose it. It can be "easy" or it can be "hard." Because I am God of this. You have to rely on everything that you've learned up until this point about eating live foods. More importantly, you have to get clear on why you want it in the first place? Is it just a diet? Is it just the challenge of saying "I did it?" Is it a way to feel more, do more, or get more done? It is a respectful prayer of thanks to the multiverses that exist for you to exercise the power of choice? For me, this time is different than any other time that I and my husband had attempted it. It is total and complete knowing that will be our reality for now, this 21 days. It is strengthened by being able to gather at the Yabba Pot with a like-goaled collective and holding that vision of why I came there in the first place (on 11/30.) Support makes all the difference sometimes in what we set out to achieve. In the past, my husband and I had just kept our cleansing challenges between ourselves and maybe what we needed to do was actually see other faces of people who desire to achieve a common goal. In order to have more spin (dynamism in our energetics), we must make connections. I loathe the term network. It's deeper than that to me. Today, this morning I had spinach, carrot, and orange juice with a dash of spirulina and a frozen block of wheat grass. Yesterday, in the morning I had kale and orange juice. Later I had pecans, apples spread with almond butter, oranges and not as much water as I had wanted to. Later still, yesterday evening I made some cabbage leaf-rollups (with avocado in the middle.) They were very flavorful with olives, tomatoes, garlic, onion, dulse, tumeric, flax oil. This morning, I had a heaviness in my abdomen that told me I should eaten the cabbage rolls earlier like around between 2-4p. Other than that, I've had about 2 slight detox headaches but nothing major. But that's all for now. I wish everyone doing this success, and don't hold back expressing because we could all benefit. Keep choosing healthy thoughts moment by moment and you will get there. Thank you Tebogo, your post encouraged me to post.Tebogo ya Setshego <mwanamisisha wrote: I'm struggling. Guest guest
Thanks 4 this response. U just called me 'gift', btw, by addressing me as Tebogo, which resonates w/ me this morning, b/c that is what this 21-days might just be 4 me: a Gift. An opportunity 2 DO BETTER. My 50 millionth 2nd chance. I have bleeding, weeping eczema, severe, debilitating migraines and mild arthritis. I'm only 36. I've been vegan 4 16-years now, but OBVIOUSLY, something is still " off " . One week Live in Jamaica during VegSoul '05 virtually eliminated my eczema and migraines. One week back 2 cooked here @ home had my stomach upset, my stool loose, and the migraines and eczema returned, W/ A VENGEANCE. It's not rocket-science here. The proof is in the pudding, as the Elders say. I'm not saying that I'll be 100% RAW after the 21-days, but I DEFINITELY can no longer wait 4 the warm mos. ONLY 2 B predominately RAW. I'm going 2 have 2 adjust, change my thinking, dust off my blender or whatever, and make it happen, year- round is all. It's just been a struggle though. I'm hungry right now in fact. Maybe I'll just say it's been a CHALLENGE, which is why Skai named it just that, I s'pose. That's not as severe as 'struggle', right? 2day I'm fasting, from food period, 2 take a break from digestion, & 2 just eliminate. Tomorrow, I'll be fine, b/c I have a big salad & RAW nuts(I checked!)from Roots Organic Market, and some sweets from Lynda Carter left-over from Saturday's WPFW fundraiser. When R we all supposed 2 B getting 2gether again, anyway? My buddy & I have 'fallen off', & played phone tag mostly, so I'm kind of alone in this, unless I see Skai out and about somewheres... , maudisa agyemang <stardust_h20> wrote: > > The word 'struggle' is choking in itself. Guest guest
Hello to 21-day challengers: I'm happy to host raw Potluck at my house at 4:30 pm on Sunday. Please RSVP, I can have up to 16 people. We'll likely eat around 5:45, but feel free to come before that to meet people, and if you're interested, to help prepare food together. (you may also bring an already-prepared dish if you prefer. Note: I have a concert Saturday night, and may fall behind on email responsiveness before then. (I'm learning words and music in English, Italian, French, Latin; we're singing " off-book " at our Madrigal Feast.) I'll try to acknowledge your RSVP, but if I don't, I figured I'd explain why. Lots of studying to do, until Sunday. I look forward to seeing you on the 11th! Yummm! Margie
